Candlemaker Row is close to the National Museum of Scotland, National Library of Scotland, the University of Edinburgh, the Royal Mile, the Castle, the Grassmarket, Holyroodhouse and lots of cafes and restaurants. It is located in the centre of the the historical Old Town which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The flat sleeps 2 and is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business and academic travellers.
This first floor (US second) flat is part of what used to be an early eighteenth century coaching inn, The Harrow, owned by a Mrs Patterson who also owned the Jedburgh coach. Candlemaker Row was the street where the candlemakers made their tallow candles, and the Harrow Inn was where they held their annual dinners. The flat is built into a slope and the kitchen window looks out, at ground level, on to Greyfriars Kirkyard where Greyfriars Bobby and his master are buried, along with hundreds of other well-known citizens from Edinburgh's past.
Guests have the whole flat for the length of their stay.
