Odalys and Santiago are very warm and extremely helpful people who love to tell you more about Cienfuegos and Cuban culture and history. Very clean, spacious and newly renovated room in a comfy house. Good location near the Viazul bus station and Plaza de Martí. Dinner and breakfast were (too!) abundant, tasty and at very reasonable prices. A must-stay when in Cienfuegos.

My family is the most important thing of my life, my two loves are Odalys and the kitchen. I enjoys personal and spiritual relationships instead of material things besides enjoys hosting travelers from different countries; i'm able to communicate in English and love when the guest are delighted by the taste of my cuisine, when travelers enjoy the seafood by its taste, quality and also quantity and price.
I enjoy pleasing my guests and I am pleased to see them satisfied both when they enjoy the meal, and hospitality offered.
I have basic knowledge of International Cuisine and abilities in the culinary art related to Cuban cuisine, I began a training Cooking course of the Cubanacan S.A Corporation in 199. That was an opportunity to find a better job with high salary but I didn´t know anything about cooking. I discovered the wonderful world of cooking and I fell in love with it so cooking became part of his life. There were Spanish professors in the course: Isidro Ruiz Pinaza, Raquel de Felipe and "Paco", Santiago feels a deep respect, admiration for them, he is grateful for their patience and love of cooking. All Santiago is and knows owed to these special and professional people who were his teachers during two years.
I have experiences as a Chef of more than ten years; I worked as a Chef in the following places:
-“Cuatrovientos” Hotel in Santa Lucia, Camagüey, Currently known as ‘Brisas”.
-“Caracol” Hotel in Santa Lucia, Camagüey.
-"Mayanabo" Hotel.
I worked in in different restaurants of the Palmares SA
-Colombo restaurant. (Puerto de Nuevitas).
Restaurants specialized in Seafood:
-Barava beach.
-Bonita Beach (in the north coast of Cuba).
In a culinary event in 1995, I obtained a relevant prize due to the creation of the dish “Pollo Tropical”, this required a dish that characterize The Colombo restaurant with a minimum cost, with components and ingredients of the area.
I don´t drink alcohol, I don´t smoke, I enjoy the aroma but not the flavor. I love watching movies; I prefer adventures, action and dramas. I don’t like neither science fiction nor horror.
I love fishing; I grew up on Nuevitas seashore in Camaguey. I like to hunt and enjoy lot of things related to the sea.
I love to taste beef mince made by him, white rice and green bananas (fufú).
First i felt in love with cooking and later with Odalys, she is an excellent person, she is my greatest treasure, my wife Odalys is the light of our home. With her vast domestic experience is able to satisfy the most demanding taste of traditional Cuban cuisine. Odalys and I love Cuban creol cuisine. She is an empirical chef, who was a natural gift to create dishes and exquisite flavors, she specializes in homemade sweets whole boneless stuffed chickens, soup and creams.
Odalys prefers cooking programs (Master Chef series) and taste seafood. She loves hygiene and cleaning, to fish, Santigo and Odalys love to go fishing together and spend very happy times together.
We enjoy pleasing our guests and we are pleased to see them satisfied both when they enjoy the meal, and hospitality offered. You are invited to taste the creole seasoning prepared in Odalys and Santiago hostal.

Lo mas importantes de mi vida es mi familia, mis dos amores son Odalys y la cocina ( Soy Chef de Cocina de profesión ), disfruto mas las relaciones personales y lo espiritual que de las cosas materiales. Soy de Camaguey pero ahora vivo en Cienfuegos.
Disfruto mucho hospedar en mi casa viajeros de diferentes países , soy capaz de comunicarme en ingles y me encanta cuando los huéspedes quedan encantados cuando prueban nuestra cocina , cuando disfrutan los mariscos por su sabor y calidad , nuestros platos se caracterizan también por su cantidad y precio.
Yo disfruto complacer a mis huéspedes y me hace muy feliz verlos satisfechos ya sea cuando disfrutan de mis platos y/o cuando disfrutan de mi hospitalidad.
Poseo conocimientos básicos de Cocina Internacional y domino el arte culinario referente a la cocina cubana, por obra del destino me incorpore a un curso de Chef de cocina internacional de la Corporacion Cubanacan S.A en 1991 , entre en le curso con el objetivo de mejorar de salario pues no sabia nada de cocina, comencé de cero , no tenia idea de lo que seria , luego descubrí el maravilloso mundo de la cocina y me enamore de ella, hasta el punto que se hizo parte de mi vida , los profesores que impartieron el curso eran españoles: Isidro Ruiz Pinaza, Raquel de Felipe y “Paco” , por los cuales siento un profundo respeto y admiración y les agradezco mucho por su paciencia y su amor por la cocina. Todo lo que se y lo que soy, se lo debo es estas personas tan especiales y profesionales que fueron mis profesores durante 2 años y a ellos agradezco mis conocimientos culinarios…
Poseo experiencia como Chef de mas de 10 años, he tenido el privilegio de Trabajar como Chef en las siguientes empresas:
- Hotel: “Cuatrovientos” en Santa Lucia, Camaguey , actualmente conocido como ‘Brisas”.
- Hotel “Caracol” en Santa Lucia, Camaguey.
- Hotel Mayanabo.
Trabaje también en diferentes restaurantes de la cadena extra-hotelera Palmares S.A:
- Restaurante Colombo,( Puerto de Nuevitas)
-Restaurantes especializados en mariscos:
Playa Barava.
Playa Bonita ( Cabo Sabinal en la costa norte de Cuba.).
En evento culinario en 1995 obtuve un premio relevante a la creación de plato: ”Pollo Tropical’ , esta requería la creación de un plato que caracterizara este Restaurant (Colombo ) con un costo mínimo y con componentes e ingredientes propios de la zona.
No bebo alcohol, no fumo, del café solo disfruto le aroma, no el sabor, me encana ver películas, para mi no hay películas malas, prefiero aventuras, acción , dramas, disfruto menos las de ciencia ficción y de terror.
Me encanta pescar, pues me crié a la orilla del mar en Nuevitas Camguey, me gusta cazar y disfruto mucho lo relacionado con el mar.
El plato que prefiero degustar es el Picadillo de res ( elaborado por mi) , arroz blanco y plátano verde pilado ( fufu).
Primero me enamore de la cocina y después me enamore de Odalys, ella es una persona excelente, es mi mayor tesoro, mi esposa Odalys es la luz de nuestro hogar, con su vasta experiencia domestica es capaz de satisfacer los gustos mas exigentes de la cocina tradicional cubana, Odalys y yo compartimos el amor por la cocina criolla cubana, Mi esposa es una Chef empírica, que posee un don natural para recrear platos y sabores exquisitos, ella se especializa en dulces caseros, pollos deshuesados enteros rellenos, sopas y cremas.
Odalys prefiere prefiere los programas de cocina( series Master Chef), es adicta a la higiene y limpieza, le encanta pescar , nos encanta ir juntos de pesquería, y pasamos ratos muy felices juntos pescando y compartiendo juntos.
Los platos que Odalys prefiere degustar son los mariscos.
