This is a ground-floor apartment in a large, historic house on East Main Street. It is two blocks from the Diamond in charming Ligonier. Walk to restaurants and shopping and historic Fort Ligonier. Watch the Fort Ligonier Days parade from our spacious front porch!
We are close to many family-friendly activities in the Laurel Highlands - Idlewild Park, Story Book Forest, Laurel Mtn. State Park and Ski Area, Seven Springs and Hidden Valley resorts, Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater.
This house is mentioned in "A Walking Tour of Ligonier, PA" by Doug Gelbert Paraphrasing from the book:
The house was built in 1921 by Earl McCune of McKeesport PA. It housed the McCune family and the Jackson Barber Shop. In 1950, the building was sold to the Ligonier Valley Library Association, and It remained the public library until 1968. From 1968 to 1972 it housed the Fern Museum of Clocks, and then housed various professional offices into the 21st century.
It served as the headquarters for Markosky Engineering from 2000 until 2015, when the company relocated to a new office building north of Ligonier.
Access is from the driveway, to the rear of the house. Down the steps to
a the entry door. Entry is to a mud room, (great for muddy hiking boots, bikes, skis, boots, poles, and wet ski clothes) and to the ground floor apartment.

I live and work within 10 minutes of the apartment and either me or my wife are usually available short notice for anything you may need. We also have a local backup, in the rare event that we can't be reached.
Many of our guests stay in Ligonier as a home base for visits to Fallingwater, Kentuck Knob, Seven Springs and Hidden Valley resorts, and Laurel Mountain Ski area.
Some excellent fishing is to had on Loyalhanna Creek, also within walking distance. Loyalhanna is 1 of PA’s 8 "Keystone Select Stocked Trout Waters" within its Delayed Harvest Artificial Lures Only section. Ligonier Outfitters (Orvis retailer), and The Loyalhanna Fishing Post are great places to get set up and learn about current conditions.

I enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing - anything outdoors. I am a history buff, with a particular interest in local history, native American history and the French and Indian War, Civil War, and WWII eras.
I also enjoy travel - my favorite destinations include Western US, New England, Canada, France, and Germany.
