Brunei and Bandar Seri Bagawan in particular is one of those places where daily life is devoid of fast pace speed that is a norm in other capitals even just outside of its border. It is a place where to truly enjoy what it can offer, one needs to just walk around the capital from its majestic Masjid Omar Ali Saifuddien mosque, to the curious Dang Ayang Mausoleum and State Library Mural in between. The field in between all these is the field where Brunei declared its full independence from British Protectorate in 1984. Remnant of the old colonial power can be seen from the field in the Old Secretariat building. Just barely five minutes away, Lapau Diraja or the Royal Court can be seen where the current monarch His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah was coronated in the full traditional glory that can be learnt more from the close-by Royal Regalia Museum. There are more of these that can be seen in Bandar Seri Begawan and the apartment is very close to all of them. Just ask any locals you meet who all can speak English fluently and they are more than happy to answer your queries. Its a kingdom of unexpected treasures if you are willing to slow down and enjoy what it can offer.
