We are on a quiet beach frequented only by local fishermen (at some distance) and residents of Yallahs (a small town 45 minutes from Kingston airport). Enjoy snorkeling, wading, aerobics, yoga and watching the sunset. Close to nature and cultural sites. Bedrooms include bunk beds to accommodate groups comfortably. The kitchen is well-equipped and a cook is available upon request. Views, ambiance, and outdoor space, and locals are great. Good for couples, families (with kids), and large groups.
What is unique about this space is the outdoor-indoor feeling. The living room has large windows on three sides and you live in the outdoor patio. The large front yard and beach front are fenced-in living spaces. The bedrooms may seem a bit crammed, but they're not the centerpiece of the place. There are (cold water, but hardly!) outdoor showers and hot water is available (on request) in all the bathrooms.
You have access to the whole villa. We can provide staff to cook your meals and cater to your needs.

My husband Nelson and I are both retired and spend our time between Philadelphia, Jamaica, and (less often) Italy. I am Italian and Nelson is Jamaican. We bought this villa in 2003 as a center for our NGO, Edu-Tourism. We host some student groups who do volunteer work with local organizations (they tell us it's life-changing!) and love to help them explore the area and get to know its culture and its African roots. We know everything about Yallahs, St. Thomas, Portland (the next Parish), Kingston, and beyond and are happy to share it with you. We have at our (and your) disposal everything needed (transportation, staff, people to meet, sites to visit, musical/cultural groups) to help you have a wonderful experience and a memorable stay--whether you want to just relax, reconnect with family and local friends, become edu-tourists, or whatever. If you would like to include some volunteer work as part of your visit, we can make it happen: just tell us about yourself and give us some advance notice. The villa also has a small library, in case you want to read about local culture and history (as we do) or just some good novels.
