Natalie and Patrick are kind and easy going. Natalie greeted me when I arrived and showed me to my room. She gave me a map of the city, which buses to take to get into the center, and additional house rules not listed in the listing. Patrick and I had a nice talk about local life and everyday living. They answered any questions I had and gave recommendations on things to do and where to eat. Cereal, milk, bread, and usually bananas are provided for breakfast.
The place: The house is bigger than it looks on the outside. There are at least 4 rooms, one rest room, an open kitchen with a dining table, a living room, and a backyard where the cat stays most of the time. There is 1 room on the first floor, at least 2 on the second, and at least 1 on the third floor. I was in one of the smaller room on the second floor. Wi-Fi is throughout the house but would sometime lose signal when in bed. The street lamp light comes through the window curtains so bring a sleeping mask if you are light sensitive. This was not a problem as I was tired from walking and exploring all day. The train can be heard if the window is open but not when closed. The kitchen includes a hot water kettle, toaster, and microwave. Even though everyone shares the downstairs showers, it is very clean and maintained. The bathroom can get congested if the other guests and hosts need to get ready at the same time. The small bedroom listing shows it as 1 bathroom so I thought it was private, but her other attic listing shows it as a shared bathroom.
Transportation: From the airport, I took the Airlink bus and regular bus from the airport. I got a Visitor Leap Card which is only available at the airport for €19.50 (3 days) or €40 (7 days). Using my phone to get directions to Temple Bar says it is a 40-44 minute walk. Or a 7-8 minute walk to the bus stop and a 14-17 minute bus ride depending on which bus. The main bus stop provides multiple bus options so waiting for a bus is quick. The taxi drivers here seem much more fair than in Italy or England.
Overall I had a great time. The house is in a nice residential area with 3 grocery stores, Starbucks, and a McDonald within walking distances. Thank you Natalie and Patrick.
