Bob is retired, so he is available most days and evenings to help in anyway: questions about the accommodations, about Bristol, about attractions in the area, driving directions, and more. He also tells clean jokes.

Bob & Phoebe
We have lived in Bristol for many years and know the town very well. Phoebe was previously a Principal of the Bristol Elementary School, and knows many former students with children of their own.
We are a short walk to downtown Bristol restaurants, shops, and entertainment. We are a short drive to Middlebury for theater, movies, shops, and Middlebury College.
Each Fall, Bristol hosts a Harvest Festival, complete with entertainment, food, and fun for all.
The Bristol Green, in the center of town, hosts a playground for youngsters: swings. Jungle gym, play structures.
Halloween is a very special time in Bristol as residents of neighboring towns bring their children for trick or treating in our flat, safe streets. We get 300-400 children every year (lots of candy! Lots of fun!).
Skiing is a favorite activity in the area. Large ski areas, Sugar Bush and Mad River Glenn are only 20-30 minutes away. Killington is an hour away. The Middlebury College Snow Bowl is a favorite of ours. Medium sized, great variety of trails, and a very friendly family oriented place.
Cross Country skiing and snow shoeing are also favorites. There are many places in the Bristol area to ski and shoe.
Beautiful Lake Champlain is about 20-30 minutes away. One of our favorite places on the lake is Kingsland Bay State Park – beach, swimming, boating, picnic tables, hiking trail, fire pits, and more. It is special to us because that is where we held our wedding reception. Love is in the air…!
The Long Trail makes its way from the Vermont-Massachusetts border to the Canadian border along the spine of the Green Mountains. Bob has done the entire length of the Long Trail with friend Roger. From Mass to Killington, it is one and the same with the Appalachian Trail, but then heads north on its own. Phoebe has also hiked extensively on the Long Trail. The trail access is about 20 minutes from Bristol for day hikes with spectacular views.
Phoebe’s flower gardens are awesome! She received an award from a gardening club a few summers ago. She loves the planning, planting, watering, weeding, and mulching because the end result is so beautiful.
Bob is her “grunt”.
We also have a swimming pool for those hot summer days. Guest could also swim at a favorite local swimming hole called Bartlett Falls in the New Haven River.
Lily is our yellow lab dog. She is very well mannered dog, with almost no barking, and a smile and trail wagging for every guest. We love her so much!
Please know that you will be very welcome in our home – not just the bedrooms, but the rest of the home as well. Even though we are new to Airbnb, we have hosted guests here for a number of years, with many returning to stay with us again.
Thanks for considering a stay with us.
