Hello!! I am originally from Macon, a medium sized town in central Georgia, where I met and eventually married my high school sweetheart. After my graduation from Nursing School and he from business school we lived in Augusta Ga, Irmo SC, and Alpharetta Ga. I have visited large cities and small towns from coast to coast as well as Mexico, Canada, and several islands in the Caribbean.
I enjoy cooking, natural living, and earth friendly cleaning products. I love curling up with a good book while covered by a warm throw and snuggled in with my husband. My favorite authors are Cris Fabry, Karen Kingsbury, Charles Martin, Francine Rivers, Nickolas Sparks, and Kathryn Stockett. I am a "Gilmore Girls" and "Parenthood" binge watcher thanks to Netflix and Apple TV. I mellow out with slow jazz music and enjoy healthy food whether prepared at home or a favorite restaurant.
In 2008 I purchased and began renovating the A-frame style lodge/cabin/home my family nicknamed "Hidden Haven". The "lodge" is located in the north Georgia mountain town of Dahlonega. We have used it since then as a private weekend and vacation retreat for family and a few friends. I am now excited to offer our cozy, rustic, and modest A-frame to laid-back individuals who will appreciate it’s informal furnishings and peaceful feel.
We have fallen in love with the north Georgia mountains and especially Dahlonega. This romantic mountain town with it's welcoming citizens and slower pace of life offers its visitors everything from gold prospecting, grape stomping and wine tasting, wildly popular festivals, and to the vibrant activities uniquely found in a college town.
In this rural area of the state you are more likely to see a stray cow crossing the road than a traffic jam. After a days activity most visitors hit Dahlonega's town square for a meal at one of many popular restaurants. I have visited most of the restaurants and venues in both Dahlonega and the other surrounding mountain communities. I gladly pass along my recommendations to my guest at any time.
I am humbled and excited to be able to share my rural and rustic A-frame with my guests and hope that they fall in love with the peacefulness of Hidden Haven Lodge.
