I would NOT recommend this host, Gayle is an apartment manager, not your friendly airbnb "host".
First I was looking at this place for $184 (+airbnb fee) and I sent a courtesy message to ask whether the place was still available since I was booking with short notice. I received a reply with an "special offer" from the host to book immediately for $196 (+airbnb fee)... so $12 more just for asking if it was available?! I booked the place anyway, got my confirmation, credit card charge and check-in instructions but later she contacted me to tell me that the place was already booked and *I* should cancel the reservation (which is against airbnb rules and not cool at all!) or take another "similar" place she also manages "just down the road". I took the other place over the phone. Both places had hidden rules not in the listing (the "house rules" sections should have them), and hidden fees. For example, the check-out time is not "flexible" as advertised, it is "10:30am sharp" otherwise you have a $75 late checkout fee. The hidden rules also mention an "additional cleaning fee" at the host discretion, rules which I didn't agree on at the time of booking. The place I got instead of the one I paid was not "fully renovated" (it was a quite old condo with less amenities in the complex, rusty appliances in the bathroom which also didn't have a sink so you have to use the sink in the kitchenette.. ughh). The price for the place I got was disproportionate and I didn't get a discount, compared to the price of the hotel that runs on the same building. I should have stayed away from this host. On the plus side the location is close the shore and walking distance from lots of places.
