The 'farm house' is a 2 minute walk from the delightful village square. The approach to the house is via a back alley, with uneven ground, which is not very pretty, and hard to find, but fine once within the house grounds. John arranged for someone to meet us to guide us to the address which was useful. John was very helpful and responded to queries quickly.
The house is spacious and pleasantly decorated. There are very steep spiral stairs to the first and second floor- which may cause problems for some people. There is an outdoor staircase which is straight and enables you to get to the first floor with ease, but you still need a spiral staircase to get to the pleasant double bedroom on the second floor.
The kitchen is well stocked and there are a multitude of towels,( but a bit on the rough side).
We had a very pleasant holiday, Qala is a quiet and pretty village. It has about 3 grocery stores, a very old fashioned bakery which is literally a hole in a wall and a big oven, and about 3 restaurants. We enjoyed the D bar.
The port Mgarr is 15 minute walk or 3 bus stops away and you can walk to Hondoq bay in 30 minutes. Buses are really good and you can use them to cover a lot of the island.
We would recommend John's farm house.
