My family loves Northern Michigan and everything it has to offer. When we aren't sitting back and enjoying the Betsie River as it flows past our house, bike riding through the state forest, snowmobiling on the groomed trails, or watching the stars - and sometimes the northern lights off the back deck - we love to travel around the area. The Betsie River house is near so many awesome experiences and sights. From our 231 foot river frontage, the river winds 37 miles before it flows into Lake Michigan in Frankfort. Frankfort is one of our favorite beachtowns. If we follow M22 north, we visit the Sleeping Bear Dunes and take the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive tour. We always learn something new and love to look for deer and bears. In Interlochen, we enjoy beautiful music and friends! In Glen Arbor, we visit the original Cherry Republic and taste samples of chocolate covered cherries and wine, cherry salsa and cherry breads. The Traverse City World Cherry Festival draws many people from around the world, as well as its International Film Festival. Nearby Crystal Mountain, provides skiing, ice skating, championship golf courses and fancy dining. The local wineries offer tours and free tasting. Canoeing and kayaking in the summer provides wonderful views of wildlife and nature.
