Sun-filled, top floor artists apartment on historic tree-lined street, one block from Prospect Park. My lovely home is filled with character and warmth. The guest room is a private, cozy, garret-like room with slanted ceilings. The room, and entire apartment, are decorated with eclectic objects, artwork, books, and white X-mas lights that give the place a warm, welcoming glow. There's an additional 1/2 room for your luggage & personal belongings and plenty of closet and dresser space.
The apartment is a turn of the century, Brooklyn brownstone with somewhat of a floor-thru layout - meaning my room is in the center of the apartment and it is curtained off so guests can walk through to their room. I just request that guests are considerate when coming home very late, as they will be walking past my sleeping area. The guest room is at one end of the apartment and completely private, and right near the bathroom as well. Guests should keep in mind that the room has a low, slanted ceiling and those who are very tall might not be comfortable. It's pretty spacious, especially by New York standards, and there is plenty of room to keep your belongings and luggage out of your way. The living room doubles as my art studio, but guests may feel free to lounge and watch TV if I am not at work. I have a good selection of cable channels, as well as Apple TV. The fully-equipped kitchen is a colorful, cheery place with a breakfast table and everything you need to prepare small meals. I just ask that you clean up after yourself in the kitchen (and bathroom) and leave things as you found them. There is a coin-operated washer and dryer in the basement and I will provide quarters so you can do your laundry for free :) Towels, toiletries, and a hair dryer are all provided. My home is LGBT friendly and non-discriminatory. All are welcome!
Guests have full access to their room, kitchen and bathroom, and occasional access to the living room. There are no time restrictions on your coming in and going out of the apartment and two sets of keys will be available if two guests are staying. There is a $7 lost key fee.

I am available at all times by text and am also available to chat and give advice when I am at home. Feel free to ask me anything about the area! If you prefer to be left on your own, that is fine too. Your room is very private and you can feel free to come and go as you please. I tend to be an early riser so I do ask that you be respectful and relatively quiet in the evenings when coming home late. On weekdays, most likely I will be gone by the time you awake and you will have the place to yourself in the mornings and throughout the day while I'm at work.
As mentioned, there is no elevator and it is a 4th floor walk up. Also, part of the room has a slanted ceiling so if you are super tall (over 6 feet or so), this probably won't be extremely comfortable for you.
Please note: if you need more days than what appears to be available on my calendar, please message me, as I can adjust and open up days if necessary.
- No shoes please
- We compost and recycle!
- Quiet after 11:00pm please.
Hi everyone! I am a Brooklyn-born artist, yoga practitioner, and arts enthusiast. I look forward to welcoming you to my home. Being a native New Yorker, I know all the ins & outs of this amazing city and would be happy to help you make the most of your stay. I've lived in Park Slope for over 15 years and know it very well and I'd be happy to share info on all it's best haunts, cheap eats, points of interest, etc.. I'm happy to advise you on all the arts and culture NYC has to offer. I've shared my home with many people over the years and have also been a guest in many homes. The exchange of cultures and lifestyles, meeting new people and making life-long friends have been the best perks of traveling and hosting. Can't wait to meet you and welcome you to my home!
