Just an eclectic way of allowing our guests to enjoy this magic spot we live in! A very comfortable caravan, set on the highest spot of our 2.5 acre property, giving you lovely views of the rolling Gippsland Hills and Wilsons Promontory.
Set between two wineries (Waratah Hills is only a 20 minute walk away, Basia Mille about a 1 hour walk or 10 minute drive (but along Savages Road which has magnificent views), and only a 15 minute drive to the entrance to Wilsons Promontory National Park.
Savages Road follows the ridge between Meeniyan-Prom Road and Waratah Road, its 6.5km length of gravel road giving you magnificent alternating views of Wilsons Promontory or the Gippsland hills. We're the first place on your right when you come in off the Meeniyan-Prom Road, and you enter through the second gate. You'll see your caravan on top of the hill, but we most likely will be around to welcome you to Savages Garden anyway!
You're separate from the main residence on the property, in your own secluded spot. You may see me sometimes watering the vegetable garden (feel free to help yourself to a few things to use in your kitchenette whilst staying with us).

We'll give you a briefing upon arrival (provided we're there), but all information is readily available in a compendium in your caravan.
You may get a visit from Shadow, our little black dog. She's a "Clayton's Dog", the dog you have when you don't own one! She loves catching balls and getting lots of attention. She'll probably welcome you as you drive in. Don't worry, you won't run her over but be mindful that's she's blind in her right eye!
Big Red, our rooster, and his harem of seven get free range and you may see them scratching for goodies around the property.
My husband and I moved here four years ago after 25 years running a B&B on Phillip Island. I fell in love with India, especially its textiles, when I first went there five years ago, so I have set up my shop in a large corrugated iron shed on our property.
I go to India once or twice a year to source clothing, bedding and textiles from small family run businesses. In my spare time I like to work in my garden, which seems to be growing!
Eric does property maintenance in the district, and in his spare time continues to renovate our house and maintain our own property. He's the one responsible for putting my quirky ideas into practice!
We both love to travel, and have been to some interesting places. Wherever we go we like to walk rather than catch taxis or public transport, since you see so much more, and join the locals at street food stalls for really tasty food.
