Nicolson, BC. Our 1 bedroom (1 queen) + loft (2 queen beds) cabin is 7km South of Golden and 21km from Kicking Horse Resort. Walk to the Columbia River to fish or paddle, or ride from the door to Moon Raker MTN Bike trails or Mount Seven (World class MTB).
Our Cabin provides a comfortable cozy place to relax. The space is small and functional. The kitchen is stocked and great for cooking meals & hanging with friends after a day in the outdoors! The bathroom is spacious with a great shower!
Our Cabin is located in the community of Nicholson – 7 km South of Golden on Highway 93.
Our Cabin has two additional suites ATTACHED, we rent the front and back of these suites to long term tenants! The door to our space is under the end of the car port.
It’s sort of rustic, but very comfortable and has everything you need for a perfect getaway in the mountains. It's a great space to share with friends with the cozy living/kitchen area and ease in accessing the stunningly beautiful outdoors of the Columbia Valley.
The main floor features the master bedroom, Kitchen, Dining/Living room, and Washroom. Upstairs, the loft has two Queen beds and a TV with HDMI and a DVD player.
The kitchen, dining and Living Room are open-concept and small. There is a small couch, wobbly dining table, chairs, stove & oven, microwave and boom box. (The boom box sits on top of the microwave, and has a cord … which enables you to use your Ipod.)
The stairs to the loft are steep and slightly awkward, please use caution on the stairs - especially young children.
We have spent $2000 on soundproofing the suite, unfortunately noise can be an issue at times. Knock on the wall to remind attached neighbour if bothersome.
The shower is huge ... and nice. It is timber frame construction, and feels Mountain condo cabin-like (once inside).
There is a back deck and yard - which can also be used for sitting or making a fire. (As a family we have not used - so it is not set up. However, there is a fire pit & if you love that sort of thing - get some wood and make it happen.)
To access the suite, just drive into the car port and notice the door on the left.

My wife and I live in Calgary. My son, who is managing The Nicolson Manor (which we have affectionally called this place for years), lives in Victoria. We are all available to help with any questions or requests you may have!
It's a small and cozy space. We have had many many wonderful family adventures from this pad since 2007. However, what we enjoy most about it ... is leaving and exploring the outdoors, then returning in the evening to share wine, cooking and food, and games by the propane fire.
The TV can be hooked to your lap top to watch movies. We have a DVD player with a few movies.
To see an old video of the space see a link on one of the photo's or search for the nicolson manor on that thing that starts with You followed by Tube.
I moved to Victoria via Calgary and Prince Edward Island. I guess being Island born (Prince Edward Island) explains why I am so drawn to the ocean..... and this ocean doesn't freeze! My family moved to Calgary for the booming economy in 2003. Once I finished high school, I moved to Victoria because I love kiteboarding and spent quite a bit of time in Victoria riding my bike for training camps with my team. There are many great cycling routes and paths to explore. Whether it be the dense forest, vast ocean, rugged mountains, or vibrant city, Victoria offers everything I admire in a place to call my home. I look forward to sharing my knowledge of the city, whether you are returning to Victoria for business or vacation, or coming for the first time.
I also run a Airbnb in Golden, BC!
My family bought a "cabin" here in 2007, we have enjoyed years of use at this cabin. Now that our family is getting older, we dont use the cabin as much anymore, but we love sharing it with others! It is located 8km south of Golden, in an ideal location for Mountain Biking, XC skiing, Snowmobiling, Para-Gliding and so many other awesome outdoor activities!
