Your comfort is important to us so we'll be available by text or phone during the day and be there most evenings. Please call us whether you need information to make your stay more pleasant or guidance on the best place to rent ski equipment, find the nearest Whole Foods or a great route for a run.
After August 30, 2017, our place will have TWO bathrooms for your convenience, just in time for fall trips and ski season!
- The entrance to this apartment is downstairs so please take into account any physical limitations that would make navigating the stairs difficult. Also, please note that, until we add another bathroom in late August, this apartment has 1 bathroom so plan accordingly.
There are two angled designated parking places all the way to the right when you're facing the building, next to the fence. We’ll send you a map showing the best way to park so that there is adequate access to the back garage out of which Steve operates his business. Please park in the space provided and not on the street. Street cleaning, snow removal, trash pick-up and mail delivery all need the street clear of vehicles.
Please be careful using the stairs. Use the handrails.
Please do not place the Keurig carafe in the dishwasher. Please hand wash or, better, rinse and wipe the carafe. That’s all you need to do to keep it clean.
If we don't check you out on the AV system when you arrive, we’ll visit and walk you through it. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO TURN OFF THE PROJECTOR WHEN YOU ARE NOT USING IT. The bulbs are pricey and short-lived. Always leave the cable box ON. Please only use the remotes to adjust the AV equipment. Let us know if your having any problems with the equipment.
Please only use fire logs in the fireplace, no wood.
We live upstairs and occasionally have our extended family over, particularly in the evenings on Sundays and on holidays. Things may get noisy. Let us know if there's a problem.
If neighbors ask, please tell them you are guests of Marney and Steve DeVroom.
This is our home. Everything we've placed in the apartment is for the enjoyment of our guests. Don't remove anything or take anything with you that doesn't belong to you when you leave, particularly any of the DVD's. We want all our guests to benefit from what we've provided.
We'd love to tell you about what's fun to do in our area and recommend hiking trails to try, running routes to take, where to rent or buy ski equipment, which resorts may best suit your skills and some good grocery stores, restaurants, or shopping. We respect our guests privacy, so just ask and we'd love to assist.
We're Steve and Marney. We love our family and extended family, skiing, the mountains, movies and life in general. We married quite late and Steve already had raised his 4 children. Then we had 4 more together and, believe it or not, it's been great fun. Steve's fond of saying, "I, for one, can not wait to see what happens next!"
Steve owns his own general contracting business and Marney is an attorney for a company in Salt Lake. We love to go to the movies, theater and symphony, camping, skiing at Alta, going to our kids' sports activities and are active in our church and community. We haven't traveled as much as we'd like but love Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Montreal (Marney went to McGill), and the National Parks we have out here in the West. Steve has lived in Salt Lake and Sandy all his life. He's easy-going, loves Dad jokes and is fun to talk to. Marney grew up in the midwest, lived in LA before moving to Salt Lake and loves sailing, both cruising and racing. Not much of that around Salt Lake, but the mountains are every bit as wonderful.
As hosts, we're very interested in your comfort and want you to enjoy your stay with us. Tell us how we can help make your stay great.
As guests, we understand how important it is to make sure your property is maintained well and we make every effort to leave it as we found it or maybe better (Steve's good at repairs and just can't help himself from fixing things.)
We hope to meet you soon.
