It is unfortunate you feel that way. Here are the full details of what happened:
On a holiday weekend, this guest did not check- out. I waited more than an hour past check-out in case they were just running behind. Finally I called their cell phone and was informed that they did not realize they were supposed to checkout at noon. They thought they had another day in their booking. I told them no, they only booked through that day and it’s not a problem, no extra charge, just come back ASAP and checkout so I can clean. Then I let her know that if she wants they could book it again for one more day.
She decided to book the additional day and after she already booked it, asked me if I would refund the $50 cleaning fee.
I let her know that I was not inclined to refund anything because I had my day off set to be home to clean that day and would have to make other arrangements for cleaning the next day. I went in to remind her it was a holiday weekend which would make especially difficult to find a cleaning person with less than 24 hours notice.
I further explained that I keep my rental price at a very low $42/night by doing cleanings myself. Then I told her that if she did not want to pay the full $92 for the extra day Wichita included the cleaning fee, she could cancel the reservation and just check out (without any additional charge for checking out very late). Her response was that it’s no big deal and she already booked the extra day. She just figured she’d ask.
This was her third booking with us and we went the extra mile accommodating her extra guest she brought, smoking on our non-smoking property, and returned her adult item she left behind in the bedding.
It is inaccurate to call us greedy and accuse us of stealing from her to get ahead, which is the private message shared with us.
Unfortunately this leaves a bad taste in our mouths too and she is not welcome back.
