My place is close to public transport route (about 7 minutes walk to the San Pedro bus stop). Mini-buses leave regularly from the Bocanegra square in Patzcuaro, but will fetch you from town when you arrive to show you the ropes. If you're coming by car, will explain the route. You’ll love my place because of lake and country views, the garden and the tranquility. It is ideal for country walks or a visit to the small village, where they do market-gardening along the lake-shore.
The guest-room, with its small bathroom and kitchenette with bar refrigerator, is off to one side of the house, so reasonably private. The sun-room next to it looks out onto fields and the mountain behind the house, where there is a back entrance.
The kitchen is available should you need to cook (restaurants not within walking distance). Suggest you have a main meal during the afternoon, and bring snacks or a pizza for the evening. The sun-porches, lounge, kitchen and internet 'office' available to guests. The garden has sitting-out spaces for relaxed reading or simply enjoying the view. Please, no smoking in the house.

I live here, so will be available should you need anything. However, I live alone and spend much time in the garden, so you will have the house mostly to yourselves. I also speak Dutch (Afrikaans), German, Spanish, French and Italian, should you need to communicate.
Being in the country, not many rules apply. Consideration of neighbours and their property is important, but I enjoy amazing security, even though there is easy access to the property. Bailey, my big dog helps to keep strays (including the two-legged variety) away, and the three little guys are back-up. They are allowed in the house, but not in the guest-room.
I was a tour-guide most of my working life and loved the intellectual stimulation, also contact with people. Yet am a complete home-loving loner, happy in my garden with the mutts and two cats. Helped set up spay-neuter clinics in Mexico and Turkey and speak up for animal-rights. Love to travel, by myself and on regular buses, nothing fancy. I have a nice kitchen, but don't cook if I can help it. Vegetarian - have been for almost 50 years. I was brought up playing the piano (don't play a note now) and loving classical music. I watch only artistic movies that make sense and read extensively on alternative archaeology, mysticism and prize-winning novels. I prefer the simple life so my present home is very far from a madding crowd.
