Rosemantic Cottage is located 40 minutes drive South of Auckland 5 km from the beautiful Pohutukawa Coast easily visited for a romantic, relaxing weekend away from the city. Embrace tranquility & peace in the countryside!
Tiny but perfectly formed, our earth-friendly cottage was restored to its early colonial charm for my wedding night and is the perfect place for a romantic getaway! The windows & high slanted ceiling bring natural light & warmth into the rooms and colonial antiques, original kauri flooring and vintage furnishings give a soulful feeling of timelessness.
From the mezzanine floor, awake with that warm, fuzzy feeling being surrounded by nature. From the comfort of your cosy double bed soak up views of magnificent English oaks, mature native bush and a small lake with a Monet-style bridge.
Downstairs is your living space with a dining table overlooking the bush breakfast hamper, comfy couch for relaxing and bathroom
Feel free to visit our Potting Studio next door or you may enjoy a short walk over rolling hills to our small olive grove that overlooks the stunning Hauraki Gulf and Waiheke island.
A delightful bush walk winds alongside a pretty stream, home of rare eels and small native Kura. (tiny crayfish). There are any number of great spots to just sit and enjoy an alfresco picnic. Re-charge by relaxing on the deck reading, listening to the Tuis & Kereru (native wood pigeons) in the surrounding native bush.
In the evening, you can sip a chilled wine from nearby award winning vineyards and fire up the barbeque, whilst gazing up at the Southern Cross. Being away from City lights, the night sky is truly amazing here.
If getting closer to the earth is your thing, we also provide a Glamping option in off-grid Tent. A fantastic option for camping in the great outdoors, without the hassle of having to set up camp. Just plonk down you bags and relax!
