This little house, built in 1938, is close to downtown Chico, Chico State, Bidwell Park, Enloe Hospital. Perfect for exploring the area, visiting friends or family, campus tours, shows at Sierra Nevada's Big Room, and more. Each small bedroom has a queen bed. Futon in living room will sleep two more--$20 extra per person--though six would be kinda crowded. Gas grill on back porch, nice redwood deck for outside dining or a glass of wine--also, vegetable and herb gardens to harvest from.
My friend, retired Chico State librarian Jim Dwyer, bought this house in 1986 and lived in it until he passed in June, 2015. I bought it from his brother with the condition that I leave Jim's peace sign (made with freeway-lane divider dots) on the roof. Hence the name: Blue Peace House. I spent the summer and fall of 2016 patching walls, painting, re-doing floors, and beginning some landscaping. Jim was a writer/reviewer, specializing in nature and eco-fiction--some of his books are in the library at the house. I hope you'll take some time to take a look at them, as well as at some of mine: guide books (Moon Publications) to Colorado, New Mexico, and Santa Fe Taos.

I live very nearby and can accommodate most needs.
- Lot's of great folks live in this quiet little neighborhood. Please be respectful.
- There's a $50 cleaning fee, but it'd be great if you could wash the dishes. Thanks.
- Two-night minimum the weekends of Chico State graduation and the Wildflower Century (bike) Ride.
No smoking, inside or outside. Really. I mean, seriously. Thanks. Seriously.
