Two bedroom ground floor unit in a house with private entrance. About 15 min from airport. I have hosted a lot of international students (mostly Japanese). Potentially free airport pickup if schedule allowed. Not for someone who wants a view. Warm hearted host who is happy to share where to find good eat/places or maybe catch free ride with us to grocery store or in town location. My place is clean and furnished. It's good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and big groups.

I was an international student here at University of Hawaii 16 years ago and ended up staying here in Hawaii and have a family. Please let me know if you want information on where to find cheap but good eats, good place to shop, places you shouldn't miss, free things to do in this expensive living paradise. I speak mandarin, Cantonese, English, Bahasa and very little Japanese.
The house is located at a very convenient location where you can easily access local good eats and grocery stores like Times supermarket where you can get some Ahi Poke, Spicy Tuna bowl, Longs Drug (CVS) store, Walgreens, Payless, RadioShack, L&L BBQ. Major shopping more like Ala Moana, Pearlridge mall, Winward mall and nice beaches like Kailua beach, Lanikai beach, Waikiki beach are very closed by (about 15-20 minutes drive). If you don't rent a car, my home is a few steps from major route bus stop which cost less than $3.00 per ride. Costco and stadium swap meet are also nearby for those who wants to save money when you need to get souvenirs for your trip. You will be surprise that this neighborhood has a few places to eat (good yelp review) like kamehameha bakery, Nishido candy store, Rays cafe... Bishop museum is about 5 minutes drive from my place which is perfect for kids or adults who are seeking to learn about Hawaiian culture.
My place is not where you want to spend a romantic honeymoon or luxury stay with view and surrounded by expensive dining and shopping. You wouldn't be paying at tourist Price for your meals and dealing with traffic and congestion of people.
My place is for you if
- you are looking for cultural exchange and get to know the real local life.
- you want to save money on dining and avoids the tourist scene.
- You want to get to the airport without have to deal with traffic, parade or event.
- you want to travel without renting a car because my place is in 5 minutes walking distance from major bust stop.
- you want some advice on where to eat and visit on a budget.
My place is more like living with your relative where interaction is welcomed as well as needed privacy will be respected.
Indon't mind giving you free ride to places if schedule allows if it's on my way. I share food whenever I could. I am originally from Asia and been living here in this neighborhood for more than 10 years. I live on the second floor with my three kids and husband.
