Turnpike Cottage is a spacious and immaculately presented cottage, ideally situated in the heart of picturesque Gerrans and a few hundred yards from the artist's haven of Portscatho. Glorious beaches, intriguing rock pools, stunning walks with majestic views - all on your doorstep.
Turnpike Cottage is a spacious, beautifully presented cottage with a wonderful, large, double aspect kitchen / dining area, three bedrooms, two reception rooms, and three bath / shower rooms. Outside is a sun terrace and on the other side of the quiet country road is a games room with table football and a small table tennis table, off street parking and a small private garden with seating area. The cottage is set in the delightful location of Gerrans Square, opposite the Royal Standard pub and Gerrans Church.
Turnpike Cottage is only a short, five minute walk down the hill to the pretty little harbour of Portscatho, where many artists have taken inspiration from the stunning location and superb light in the area. There are a number of delightful little galleries showcasing the work of various Cornish artists. The Plume of Feathers public house is nestled in The Square and serves local ales and good pub grub all year round. Rosevine beach (dog friendly throughout the year), is just to the east of the village. It has beautiful golden sands (at low tide) and is over looked by the increasingly famous Hidden Hut. Before you visit, try and get on their social media page and acquire tickets to their special outdoor dining events.
Ground floor: Enter into the large, double aspect fitted kitchen with farmhouse dining table, comfortable sofas and all modern conveniences, One door leads to a small Shower room with WC and hand basin. A further door leads to two reception rooms; a small snug (kids TV room with DVD player) and a larger lounge with flat screen TV, DVD player and Youview box, and a stunning wood burning stove. A further door leads to the stairs, a rear back door to the street and a further door to rear yard.
First Floor: The stairs open on to a small landing with doors leading to: a large master bedroom with 5#39; double bed and views of Gerrans Church, sea glimpses to the south and Gerrans Bay; bathroom with WC and hand basin; shower room with WC and hand basin; twin bedroom (both 3#39; beds) with storage and a second double bedroom with 5#39; bed and storage.
Exterior: Small sun terrace outside front door with bench. Rear yard leads to utility room with washing machine, tumble drier and separate fridge freezer. The other side of the road, opposite the front door, is off street parking for one car, a private garden with table and chairs and a garage has been converted into a games room with table tennis and football tables, plenty of storage for bikes etc. There is a barbecue.
Facilities amp; Services
There is an oil central heating system throughout. The kitchen has a range of cupboards amp; worktops. There is an electric oven and hob, a microwave, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, fridge and AGA (not functioning). There is a separate fridge freezer in the utility room. The snug has a digital TV amp; DVD player. The main living room has a digital TV, DVD player and Youview box. There is an iron amp; ironing board. There is a travel cot and high chair available. There is a washing machine and separate tumble drier. There is unlimited broadband WiFi.
Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are included but you will need to provide your own beach towels. There is parking available for 1 car off street opposite the property, the public car park is 100 m away (FOC). Regrettably there is no smoking. A maximum of 2 dogs may stay in the property at a small additional price of pound;25.00 per dog per week, dogs are restricted to the kitchen / dining area and may not be left unattended in the property.

Arrival / Departure is normally a Friday.
Short breaks are available during quieter periods.

Low occupancy discounts of 10% for a couple are available out of season when using one bedroom.
You must pay particular attention to details on how to leave your accommodation upon departure. Please note that in accordance with our booking conditions, it is your responsibility to:
1. Report and pay for any damages immediately to the Owner or housekeeper.
2. All personal waste must be removed from inside the property at the end of your stay and placed in the dustbins provided. Please note and adhere to any additional instructions in the property regarding waste disposal.
3. Ensure all washing up is done and excess food is removed from the property at the end of your stay.
4. Leave the property in a clean and respectable condition upon departure.
5. Pet owners are reminded about the specific conditions regarding pets at properties.
Please be reminded that in accordance with our terms & conditions, part or all of your pre-authorised security deposit (should it apply to your booking) is at risk if any of these conditions are not met.
