A few highlights from my eyes and good resources for your trip...
Marco Island is amazing and has so much to offer its guests.
I love our 5 miles of beaches and enjoy them daily, rain or shine.
Yoga on South Beach is a must for yoga fans or even newbies who want to give it a try. They encourage families to partake as well. Yoga is M-W at 5:30 pm and Th-Sun at 8:30 am. Yoga at sunset can't be beat! Bring a yoga mat or towel, park at South Beach lot and walk across to the beach, they set up just to the left. Donations accepted.
Each area of the 5 miles has something fun to offer so I recommend parking at South Beach or Tigertail and explore. We provide plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, etc for your trips to the beach. Children love to see the fire baton performance right at sunset on the beach in front of the Marriott. Park at the corner of Winterberry and Collier in the lot and walk the short distance north to the Marriott or take boardwalk down across from the corner and walk up the beach.
We love to cook and grill at home so our family doesn't hit a lot of restaurants however Nenes and Doreen's are two of our favorites for breakfast and we always enjoy Cocomos for dinner.
There are over 100 restaurants to choose from on the island as well as a few ice cream spots.
We love to go out on the water so we either rent a boat, use Cool Beans catamaran trips, or hop on a fishing or shelling excursion to go out. Wave runner trips are fun in the backwaters.
No trip is complete with out a trip to the Everglades. Just a short drive down 41 and you will find touristy airboat rides with alligator shows or sanctuaries with museums and lots of alligator. We love to go to Shark Valley and ride bikes through the swamps to see the alligator up close and personal. It is almost a 1 1/2 hour drive one way and a hefty bike ride. Not for everyone.
The island is home to eagles, osprey, turtles, owls, manatee, dolphin, and numerous birds. Keep your eyes open it is magical!
As I mentioned Marco has lots to offer, I love the Marco Review App and believe if you use it you will be pleasantly surprised. The info is very good ad honest. They offer an e copy of their latest magazine which I highly recommend! There is no fee you just have to endure all the ads which are informative as well.
If you would like a hard copy of The Marco Review please e-mail us at (EMAIL HIDDEN) call them at (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). I would get a copy before my trip as I am a hopeless planner and hate to find out on my last day of vacation that I missed something fun.
Ask as many questions as you want I love to help our guests have the best stay they can on Marco Island.
This private home in the secluded estate section of Marco Island, allows for guests to enjoy themselves without worrying about much.
The pool area has both shade and sun exposure most of the day. Making it perfect for sunbathers or those who prefer shade. Eight lounge chairs surround the pool.
Please respect the neighbors as you would in any community. This home, although surrounded by neighbors, has the feel of a private oasis. A unique way to get away yet with all the conveniences just minutes away. Loud music should be turned down at 10:30 pm.
This is a no smoking home and property. If property smells of smoke an additional $350 will be charged for deep cleaning.
No pets allowed on property please.
House has a great layout for families but is not childproof, no kid locks on doors or drawers, no outlet covers, doors do chime when they are opened however, allowing you to know when a door has been opened.
The home is to be enjoyed, we want you to feel at home. Please tell us is something is not right so we fix it.
Controls for the a/c and heat are in the family room. Humidistat should always be in the on position. Please adjust the temperatures for your comfort. I just ask that you turn the a/c system off if you want to keep windows and doors open. Sometimes the outdoor temperatures are so pleasant it is nice to have them open. The front storm door has a built in screen, which is exposed by lowering the top glass.
There are TV’s with cable in every room and instructions to turn on TV’s are posted by each TV.
Wifi network is "Get Your Own" and the password is (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)
This is also posted in the home.
There is a telephone in the family room by the tv, it can be used for emergency calls or calls within the United States without charge.
The phone also accepts calls; the number for your stay is ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) Ludlow Rd is your home away from home. I store my car in the garage and have one locked closet in the guest hallway for my personal property and a suitcase with personal clothing.
The house is well stocked, please use what you need and comment if we are missing something.
In the laundry room there is an iron and ironing board. Please clean the lint trap in the dryer after each use. We often have back to back renters and ask that you keep the wash to a minimum, sheets and a days worth of towels if possible.
The garage has bikes, pool toys, and beach gear for your use. I ask that you just replace them when you are finished.
There is a lock for the bikes with letters for the code which is MUTT
A grill has been provided for your use and enjoyment. Please clean grill after each use. There will be a $25 charge if the grill is left dirty. Propane is already attached to the grill and an extra tank is stored in the garage. If the propane runs out it is the guests responsibility to refill if interested in using.
Garbage days are Monday and Thursday. Please take out the regular trash bin on Sunday evening and both regular and recycle bins on Wednesday night (also loose trash can be set out on Wednesday nights).
There are hairdryers in each bathroom. Extra blankets around the house.
There are two notebooks with local information and appliance manuals.
Lawn service usually comes on Wednesdays and pool service on Tuesday mornings. Both are very quick and both just go about their business without knocking on the door.
The beaches are beautiful. There are three public parking lots. Tigertail, Turtle Lot, and South Beach. There are multiple boardwalks to access the beaches. I love to go to the beach for sunset and usually go to South Beach. There is an amazing yoga class on South Beach, daily. M,T,W at 5:30 pm and Th-Sun 8:30 am. Yoga mats are in the garage. Most public parking is $8/ day but you can use the pass all day. This allows you to play all day and then return for sunset if you like.
