The 4 storied Bembea house reflects the fascinating charm of Swahili architecture mixed with electric furnishing and a personal touch of finest style and comfort. Bembea house is a self-catering house.
It's a home away from home.
The house sleeps 2 to 4 people in two double bedrooms. On the second floor there are 2 bedrooms they are furnished with four-poster beds, mosquito nets, ceiling fans and dressing tables. The en-suite bathrooms have hot water showers.
The entrance hall decorated with seashells in the beautiful niches and three large stone benches ideal for sitting and relaxing. The staircase leads up to the fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen has a dining area where your friends and family can sit and dine. Through the kitchen windows you can gaze at the birds in the palm trees and enjoy the view of the sand dunes.
The third floor has a spacious dining area and an adjacent living room.
Lastly, we have a magnificent rooftop with panoramic view of the Indian Ocean and Shela village.
While relaxing in the baraza lounging area or sunbathing on the comfortable sun beds, you can feel the cool breeze from the dunes.
Guests will have sole access to the entire house.
Our house staff Samson and Johnson will look and ensure all your needs are catered for during your stay including cooking.
We discourage our guests from inviting outsiders onto the premises.
As part of the package, you will be collected by Samson from the airport, he will take your luggage by boat to our house (20 min). Boat transfer is included, but porter charges are payable seperatly

Both Samson and Johnson will look after you and the house and they can create the most amazing dishes for you.
They can also arrange Dhow trips with Bongo or Deep sea fishing with experienced captains.
We want you to have a good time during your stay, we only ask you to treat the house with respect.
We generally remove our shoes inside the house, there is a foot bath available to rinse your feet upon entry. In respect of our Muslim neighbors we suggest that the noise level be reasonable and respectful during prayer times.
Towels and bedsheets will be changed on an as needed basis. As we are not a hotel please be mindful of the number of towels that are used, water is a precious thing in Shela.
