Badgers Cottage is a delightful property in the hamlet of Warleggan positioned high on the moors above Bodmin and with spectacular rural views from the garden of rolling Cornish countryside.
Positioned within the small hamlet of Warleggan on the south side of Bodmin Moor, Badgers Cottage is a delightful, dog friendly property, with a wood burning stove to keep you cosy on a blustery autumn day and a quiet garden with far reaching rural views, a perfect spot for a summer al fresco dinner or barbecue. If you are wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of city life you will not find anywhere more peaceful.
Before Warleggan was linked to the A38 in 1953 and more recently to the A30 it was considered one of the remotest parts of the county, now a mere 4 miles from the dual carriageway this hamlet offers fabulous links to both the North Coast and it's glorious golden sands, secluded coves and wild promontories but also the pretty fishing villages and artists retreat along the South Coast including Looe and Polperro, the Eden project, Lanhydrock House and the start of the Camel trail.
Ground Floor: Conservatory with view over the garden and dining table and chairs, access to double aspect twin bedroom with zip and link beds, at the other end of the conservatory is a door to the fully equipped kitchen and this further leads through to the hall way with oil fired stove which also provides heating and hot water, further door into the lounge with wood burning stove and comfortable seating. Stairs from the hallway lead to:
First Floor: Landing with doors leading to; family bathroom with shower over, hand basin and WC. Master bedroom with panoramic views, 4'6" bed and storage.
Exterior: A mature well-tended garden with external seating, gas barbecue, patio and decked area. There is an outside "gardener's toilet." There is a parking space for one car in front of the property. The owner also has a large field opposite with veg garden and, on request, these may also be used by guests.
Facilities & Services
Heating is via oil fired central heating & wood burning stove. The kitchen has a range of equipment. There is an electric oven and hob, a microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge with ice box, dishwasher and washing machine. There is also a coffee machine, sandwich toaster and "George Foreman grill." The sitting room area has a TV & Bluray DVD player. There is an iron & ironing board.
Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are all included. Up to 2 well behaved dogs are permitted at a small additional cost of £25 per dog / per week, although please remember that you cannot leave dogs unattended in the cottage alone. We regret no smoking is permitted and there is no WiFi. There is a parking space in front of the property and more available on request if required. WiFi is available at the property.
General Booking Information
Arrival/departure is a Saturday.
Short breaks are available during quieter periods.
£150 pre-authorised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required.
Discounts available for couples staying for 7 nights outside the peak season, using one room only.
You must pay particular attention to details on how to leave your accommodation upon departure. Please note that in accordance with our booking conditions, it is your responsibility to:
1. Report and pay for any damages immediately to the Owner or housekeeper.
2. All personal waste must be removed from inside the property at the end of your stay and placed in the dustbins provided. Please note and adhere to any additional instructions in the property regarding waste disposal.
3. Ensure all washing up is done and excess food is removed from the property at the end of your stay.
4. Leave the property in a clean and respectable condition upon departure.
5. Pet owners are reminded about the specific conditions regarding pets at properties.
Please be reminded that in accordance with our terms & conditions, part or all of your pre-authorised security deposit (should it apply to your booking) is at risk if any of these conditions are not met.
