Acorns is a really comfortable 2 storey 1 bedroom cottage, occupying one end of the Owners superb converted granite barn which used to be an old threshing barn. Located in a small hamlet of about 10 houses and converted barns, this peaceful rural location is a wonderful place to escape to at any time of year. The wilds of Bodmin Moor with endless walking opportunities are nearby and the spectacular scenery of both Cornish coasts and Dartmoor are all within easy reach. The area abounds with country pubs - most of which have roaring fires in the winter months, and the towns of Launceston and Liskeard are just short distance away. Acorns is just 2 miles from Minions, Cornwalls highest village, the famous Cheesewring, a dramatic outcrop of granite slabs and The Hurlers, a set of three bronze age stone circles.The area is rich in mining history with many chimneys, engine houses and stone railway tracks still visible - a reminder of Cornwalls long mining tradition.
Acorns is located in 3 designated areas - Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Area of Great Scientific Value and Area of Great Historic Value. So something for everyone! The oak tree shown in the photos is the famous Darley Oak which is over 1000 years old. This is a great location to visit if you are a keen walker. There are endless opportunities to explore the local area. A great dog friendly cottage too! The barn itself is set out in reverse style with a kitchen / living room on the first floor and access into the enclosed garden. On the ground floor there is a double bedroom with external access, a large bathroom with bath and separate shower.
Ground Floor: Double bedroom (46) with large bathroom featuring traditional freestanding roll top bath, separate shower, WC and basin.
First Floor: Open plan kitchen / dining room / living room.
Exterior: Enclosed garden with exterior furniture and BBQ facilities.
Heating is via central heating supplemented with an electric woodburner in the lounge. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven hob, kettle, toaster, fridge with ice compartment and microwave. The living room area has a wall-mounted digital TV DVD player. The washing machine is in a cupboard off the bathroom and there is a clothes drier, iron and ironing board. A cot highchair are available for babies and an additional folding bed is available for children (not suitable for adults). There is a CD and radio player and WiFi is available (subject to service availability).
Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are all included.There are parking facilities for up to 1 vehicle. UP TO 2 WELL BEHAVED DOGS WILL BE PERMITTED AT NO ADDITIONAL COST! Regrettably no smoking is allowed.

Arrival / Departure is normally a Sunday.
Short breaks are available during quieter periods.
100 pre-authorised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required.
You must pay particular attention to details on how to leave your accommodation upon departure. Please note that in accordance with our booking conditions, it is your responsibility to:
1. Report and pay for any damages immediately to the Owner or housekeeper.
2. All personal waste must be removed from inside the property at the end of your stay and placed in the dustbins provided. Please note and adhere to any additional instructions in the property regarding waste disposal.
3. Ensure all washing up is done and excess food is removed from the property at the end of your stay.
4. Leave the property in a clean and respectable condition upon departure.
5. Pet owners are reminded about the specific conditions regarding pets at properties.
Please be reminded that in accordance with our terms & conditions, part or all of your pre-authorised security deposit (should it apply to your booking) is at risk if any of these conditions are not met.
