Peaceful and secluded oasis on the Kensington/Berkeley border in a lovely, quiet setting amid lots of oak trees. Enjoy the spectacular bay view and watch incredible sunsets from your private deck.
Our oasis in the oaks lets you unwind in a peaceful, relaxing setting that feels like being in a park, but is only minutes away from gourmet restaurants, markets, hiking trails, and the cultural riches of the Bay Area. Our 1,000 square foot apartment is all on one level, with a queen sized bed and a sizeable bonus room that can be used as an office or a second bedroom with a foldout couch. It is almost all west-facing with lots of windows and natural light. The modern and recently remodeled kitchen has a bar with counter stool seating ,with dishwasher, oven, full sized refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, and washer and dryer.
The main living area and kitchen share one open space, with new hardwood floors and leads out to your own private deck with patio table and chairs, and an unobstructed 2-bridge bay view (Bay and Golden Gate bridges).
Being only 3 miles from UC Berkeley, we get lots of longer term guests who are visiting professors or on sabbatical (not all through Airbnb, which is the reason for the relatively few reviews on here). The space is very conducive to working, with the separate office room and high speed Wi-Fi. There is also a 40" LED flat screen TV with premium cable.
We always have it professionally cleaned in between bookings.
Parking area and private deck.

We (owners/landlords) live in the upper unit, and are happy to provide you with recommendations on things to do in the area, but you aren't required to interact with us unless you would enjoy it or need our assistance. Please note that the only common space is our shared parking area, so the apartment offers LOTS of privacy. You may occasionally catch glimpses of our two dogs, who don't have access to your space, but will keep the yard free of lions.
No pets or smoking allowed.
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and even though it's one of the most beautiful place on earth, I still like to travel. Both at home and on the road I like to hike, road bike, do yoga, and seek out cool little restaurants and cafes. Whenever I can, I bring my two well-traveled Rhodesian Ridgebacks (dogs) and hit the trails with them. My husband and I are now Airbnb hosts as well, so we get it.
