I had a great time staying here. The best thing about it is the owner and staff. They are incredibly friendly, helpful and really go out of their way to make you feel at home and comfortable. It's a small hotel, so you get the feeling that they take pride in it and give every guest the kind of personal attention that you rarely get in a large chain hotel.
They picked me up and dropped me off at the airport, did my laundry for a great price compared to bigger hotels, the cleaners sing while cleaning the rooms, the reception staff are chatty and friendly, and the owner tried his best to help me get back my bankcard that I lost in the airport.
The room itself is very comfortably, with a good air con and heating unit. There's a good TV with cable, reliable hot water in the shower, a very comfortable mattress and bedding, and wifi throughout. I had a serious problem with my website whilst there, and because I needed the fastest wifi possible, the staff put an extra rooter right outside my bedroom. The internet then stayed fast and stable all week, which is a miracle in Paraguay. They literally saved my livelihood by helping me out with this, and I can't thank them enough.
The location is great. It's about an 8 minute walk to the nicest shopping center in the city, with lots of food and drink options, good shops and a cinema. The neighborhood is very peaceful and safe, and I never once felt threatened even walking around at midnight.
If I had to complain about anything, I'd say the swimming pool is smaller than it looks in the photo and not heated, so in the winter it's not really going to be much fun. There was also building work going on next door which isn't of course a reflection of the hotel, but if you plan on relaxing in the garden a lot, that's not really going to happen for a couple of months I imagine. However, it didn't disturb me in the room at all and in fact I had the quietest nights' sleep I've had in months on my travels in South America.
Overall, I highly recommend staying here. You might not get the same facilities as a big hotel, but what you do get is a comfortable space, a place filled with interesting artworks, free breakfast, an owner who does everything possible to make sure you're happy, and trustworthy staff who never stop smiling.
