Our victorian terrace is situated in a conservation area on a gorgeous and peaceful cobbled avenue just by the train station and a few minutes stroll to the university, city centre and hospitals. The house has plenty of character and is warm and comfortable, a real home from home
The avenue is pedestrian only, so no cars but you can park on the street at the entrance to the avenue. It has the perfect and unusual mix of a easy access to everywhere combined with total peace and quiet.
The house is victorian with many original features, charmingly shabby around the edges, tastefully decorated and very homely. The room has a comfortable double bed and all bedding and towels are provided. The shared bathroom is right next to the room.
You're welcome to relax in the hammock in the garden in summer or in front of the fire in the winter. I love to cook so the kitchen is fully equipped and you're welcome to use it, there is a spare fridge for any visitors, so plenty of space.
There are numerous places to eat nearby and nice bars and pubs to relax in.
Leicester is a multicultural city and whatever you're here for you can't leave without having some of the best curry in England. There is also one of the last proper fruit and veg markets in the UK as well as a great independent cinema.
Leicester is a good place for cycling around as it's quite flat and relatively small. The house is also just 100 yds from the main bus routes and right by the train station (Leicester to London just over 1 hour)
I am also happy to have regular guests. I've had many university lecturers stay weekly long term and can discuss discounts for this.

I'm very friendly but I work long and strange hours and lead a pretty busy life so chances are you won't see that much of me, but if I'm around I'm always up for a cup of tea and a chat. Im happy to help with any questions/advice about leicester etc.
I don't offer breakfast as such, buts there's always bowel of muesli if you need some. If I'm around at the weekend you may be in luck for a proper cooked breakfast!
There aren't any particular house rules, just treat things with respect as you would you're own. I do work long hours and my sleep is important to me, so this would suit someone who also appreciates a peaceful environment.
With regard to the fire, if its going by all means come and enjoy it, but if you'd like to use it by yourself I'd just appreciate something towards the cost of wood, it's very easy to use a bag a night and if someone was staying for a while this could well add up. thanks
I live in Leicester and whilst not at work (which takes up way too much of my time) I read, sew, cook, attempt to turn wood and love mountain biking through the wilderness ....
