Retaining all of the rustic charm of a ‘proper’ Cornish cottage with it’s exposed beams, stripped wooden flooring, traditional wood-burner, column radiators and exposed granite throughout, it is a quintessential cottage that combines mod cons with character and comfort. As an historic building, the property does have quite narrow staircases, but this adds to it's charm. There is a really cosy "snug" room on the ground floor to the rear of the kitchen with the roaring wood-burner and a super comfy sitting room on the first floor with a lovely large sofa to relax. The double and twin bedrooms are on the second floor and there is a further twin room in the converted loft space, but do please bear in mind that this is accessed by a staircase off the twin room, so it is ideal for children but perhaps not so private for adults.
Ground Floor: Entrance through into the welcoming kitchen which is fully equipped and includes a double Belfast sink, stripped wooden flooring, dining table to seat 8. Through to the "snug" living room with 2 comfortable sofas and the roaring woodburner to keep you really toasty warm in winter. There is a widescreen TV too. A staircase then leads up.
First Floor: There is a entrance door from the rear where the ground level is higher and up a few steps to a small hallway with a brilliant collection of DVDs to keep you entertained. Off this hall is the main family bathroom which is really spacious and includes a large walk in modern shower and a large roll top freestanding bath. There is the main living room with large sash windows and a big comfortable sofa and widescreen TV. A staircase then leads up.
Second Floor: The master double bedroom has a 4'6" bed and there is a twin room and both are utterly charming and beautifully presented. A further small staircase leads from the twin room to the third floor, something to consider with the makeup of your group.
Third Floor: The loft space is beautifully converted but does have a low ceiling. A dormer window and skylight make this room very atmospheric and it is a perfect place to hide the children!
Facilities & Services
Heating is via gas central heating throughout and the wood-burning stove on the ground floor. A basket of logs is provided on arrival, thereafter logs are available locally. The kitchen has a range of equipment. There is an electric oven and 5 ring gas hob, a microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge / freezer, dishwasher and washer / dryer. The sitting room and snug room both have flat-screen digital TVs, one with a DVD player. There is an iron & ironing board. There is also a hair dryer for guest use.
Electricity, heating, bed linen & towels are all included but you will need to provide your own beach towels. Up to 2 well behaved dogs will be permitted at a small additional cost of £25 per dog / per week. There is public car parking nearby, although it can be very busy in summer and alternative parking is a bit further away, however you are able to unload outside the cottage. Strictly no smoking is allowed. There is a cot and highchair available. Superfast WiFi is available at the property.
General Booking Information
Arrival / Departure is normally a Friday.
Short breaks are available during quieter periods.
£200 pre-authorised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required.
You must pay particular attention to details on how to leave your accommodation upon departure. Please note that in accordance with our booking conditions, it is your responsibility to:
1. Report and pay for any damages immediately to the Owner or housekeeper.
2. All personal waste must be removed from inside the property at the end of your stay and placed in the dustbins provided. Please note and adhere to any additional instructions in the property regarding waste disposal.
3. Ensure all washing up is done and excess food is removed from the property at the end of your stay.
4. Leave the property in a clean and respectable condition upon departure.
5. Pet owners are reminded about the specific conditions regarding pets at properties.
Please be reminded that in accordance with our terms & conditions, part or all of your pre-authorised security deposit (should it apply to your booking) is at risk if any of these conditions are not met.
