Our Malibu Park bungalow is 5 minutes from Zuma Beach and two blocks from a Santa Monica Mountains trailhead for expansive ocean view hiking: it is cozy and private, with a King size antique brass bed and a comfortable Queen sofa bed in the living area. This small guest unit built in 1950 is lovingly appointed with everything you will need for your Malibu vacation: it is also a perfect workspace for creatives/writers, with an outdoor bar and a private sitting area for reading and relaxing!
The cottage is equipped to make your stay in Malibu comfortable and fun. See our listing, and send us a note if you need additional information.
Malibu is especially beautiful in the late winter and early spring, known for its very low tides and spectacular sunsets. The later Spring months are lovely, too.... less crowded on the beaches (especially Zuma Beach), but warmer weather. Summer is the classic Malibu experience:sun, sand and endless fun boogie boarding, paddling and surfing. Of course, the local kids are in the ocean 365 days a year, with or without wetsuits!
We live in a fire zone, and safety is paramount for all: your space has a kitchenette, but not a full kitchen with an oven. We do have a hotplate for you to use if you'd like, a microwave oven, a coffee maker, a 3/4 sized refrigerator, a kitchen sink and a fully equipped kitchenette with tableware, cups, mugs and service for 4. We have a dining area and lots of take-out places really close by for hot food and such. You can also bring in your own groceries, either from Pavilions or Vintage Market, both close by.
You can access the entire guest cottage and its adjacent private patio, and we will respect your privacy always. When you arrive, please park in your designated parking spot, which is located immediately adjacent to the address posted for the house: 5765 Busch Drive.
We will meet you outside where the parking spot is located and walk you in if you give us a "heads up" when you are a few minutes out!
If you arrive late or need to get in and we have not greeted you yet, here are the instructions for getting in:
There is a walkthrough gate right there next to the brass bell, and you can enter the property there. Walk through the gate toward the BACK of the property: there are two bungalows to your RIGHT. Your bungalow is the one all the way to the back, on the right, with the RED DOOR. Enter via the gate that has a sign on it that says: MERMAIDS WELCOME.
And YOU are welcome, too!

Remember you are in Malibu, so bring things to help you enjoy the beach and/or hiking. Also, remember that you are in a rural neighborhood, so you'll need a car or experience ind using Uber to get around.... Malibu is many miles long and there are many cool neighborhoods, beaches and local spots that you may wish to see during your time here in Paradise!
This is a private guest house located on a classic "Old Malibu" property, built in 1950 and occupied now by our family: we love to share our space with guests, and we offer complete privacy and a space for you to rest and relax. There is always someone home to assist you with arrival and departure, and to answer any questions you might have about how to spend your leisure time in our beautiful neighborhood that includes close-by Zuma Beach and the Santa Monica Mountains trailhead for spectacular ocean view hiking. We appreciate our guests respecting the quiet of our neighborhood, the dark night skies, and the pristine beaches of Lechusa and Broad Beach, easily accessible and five minute drive from our home.
I am a mother, a mediator and a Malibu resident. I do yoga and walk on the beach daily, eat healthy foods, and love my "Old Malibu" home. Built in 1950, our home was the first built in our Malibu Park neighborhood: we are only the second lucky owners of this classic Malibu ranch home. Our guest home is also circa 1950, and we love to share it with travelers who appreciate a more rustic (yet very charming) space.... take a look at the pictures, which will give you a feel for our home and property! The beach is five minutes away, and we have an ocean view from the front of our property (though not from the guest house). You'll enjoy privacy in a cozy space with loving touches to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable!
