For one or two people wanting to stay in scenic surrounds, close/walkable to public transport, Jeanie's little bomb shelter is just...the bomb ! Nestled near the river in leafy Toorak, with the Toorak Village just a few blocks away and the city only 15 mins by bus or tram this place is ideal for the business person or traveller. Being able to open the french doors to allow the breeze inside is a treat and whilst the decor and furnishings are simple they are also comfortable and Jeanie keeps the home sparkling clean. The kitchen is only small but is fully equipped and has everything you need for a short stay. The bedroom is quite tight but the bed is very comfy. The loo is off the bedroom and the bathroom is adjacent so everything you need is right there. The lounge/sitting room is very comfortable for relaxing and the courtyard is very sizeable. I appreciated the privacy and cosiness and remember youre staying in a 1941 bomb shelter at the base of the building so its a little bit of living history as well. There was one hot day when i was there but as soon as I went inside the home was cool and comfortable. There is a little road noise at certain times but the general je ne sais quoi allows for a relaxed and comfortable stay.
Jeanie, your host is most helpful and is obviously caring and considerate of your stay. A huge thanks to her for the little extra touches. This was my fist ever airbnb exoerience and it was overwhelmingly positive and I thought it was good value for someone wanting peace, privacy and independence. Be prepared for some good walks if you dont have a car but if you enjoy excercise and some stunning residential homes then I found that an enjoyable experience also. I can thoroughly recommend Jeanie's little bomb shelter for the weary traveller. A great place to out your feet up and enjoy the sunny courtyard !
