When we first visited La Richardière we instantly fell in love with the beauty of the buildings and the tranquility of the surrounding countryside. We have been visiting the area for a number of years and find it both a fascinating and relaxing place to be. As well as offering much for visitors, both regular and occasional, there is a vibrant community around the region and a plethora of local events celebrating food, wine, folklore and tradition to enjoy and participate in.
You will have access to the whole property called Le Martinet and the extensive grounds surrounding the buildings at La Richardière.
In the house there is a comfortable living room with TV and Internet access; a fully equipped kitchen/diner; two bedrooms (twin with en suite shower room and double with ensuite shower room). There is a private garden to the rear of the building with table and chairs and a barbeque.
In the grounds there is a heated swimming pool which is available to all of our guests; a games field with a temporary badminton area, a permanent boule court and a table tennis table; also gardens in which to sit and relax.

We live at La Richardière and so are available to advise about places to visit and things to do. You may well be interested in taking part in one of our wine tasting evenings.
Beware, in France most things stop for lunch between 12 and 2pm, but they stray open later into the evening. So it is goo advice to leave early and adopt the French way and take a leisurely lunch or picnic in the middle of the day. Many amenities are closed on Mondays.

Our lives in England were very different from the life we now lead in France. Patience was a stay at home mum and Dave was a Primary School Headteacher. When Dave retired at the end of December 2014 we moved to France and have thoroughly enjoyed preparing the traditional and characteristic French cottages at La Richardiere for our guests.
We have found the French people extremely welcoming and this has enabled us to carry on with our interests. Dave is a practicing musician and accomplished at playing traditional Fiddle music from England, Scotland, Ireland and the USA and Patience sings in the local Choir and is developing her creative skills in the local pottery. We have also developed a close connection with the local Primary School where we teach English on a Friday afternoon.
