The home features a beautiful back garden with lush lawn. Whilst being located in vibrant Richmond it is still located in a quiet street. Richmond abounds with endless cafes and restaurants.
The facade is a beautifully restored Victorian home with boom style windows and a white picket fence. The house was originally built in 1884 and has had a major renovation to incorporate modern living styles in the rear of the home. The living space is an architecturally designed open plan and the house unfolds to reveal a two storey extension and a generous back garden with verandah.
The master bedroom is in the front of the house and features a very comfortable king size bed with a luxurious kingsdown mattress, and ensuite bathroom. There are tasteful paintings throughout the home.
Opposite the master bedroom is the 2nd downstairs bedroom/study/guestroom. The study has a very high quality sofa bed which converts to a comfortable queen size sofa bed. This room has recently been renovated with a beautiful period style architecturally designed study and hand crafted study cabinetry in tasteful black-wood. The books in the study are available for you to browse during your stay.
In the study is a large LG TV and this is equipped with a chrome cast receiver so if you wish to use chrome cast all you need is your own smart phone or computer to use this after accessing the wifi.
The downstairs bathroom has a large bath (spa jets not currently operational) with a shower inside the bath and a separate toilet inside the bathroom. This bathroom connects to the master bedroom doubling as an ensuite.
A separate walk in robe adjoins the downstairs bathroom adjacent to the master bedroom which is not provided for use by guests as it houses our personal items and clothing.
Formal dining room/music room.
As you walk down the corridor you will be greeted by a large open plan living space. Prior to stepping into the lounge room on the left will be the formal dining room/music room. The has a dining table which seats 6 people and also has a Yamaha upright piano for you to play and enjoy during your stay if you wish. There is also a guitar available for you to use. The dining room is separated from the living room by a dwarf wall so that the view of the room is not interrupted.
The lounge room has a large 5 person couch which is a modular suite from king furniture and the configuration can be adjusted.
We have wood fire stove in the lounge room which is available for use during the winter months only (June to September). The house has ducted heating throughout so you will be warm and comfortable throughout your stay.
In the lounge room is a smart TV, with netflix etc., a DVD player and DVDs, and Playstation with games. There is wifi available throughout the house. There is a games cupboard upstairs which has many board games for your use during your stay.
Kitchen/ Meal bay
The kitchen is adjacent to the open plan lounge room and is adjoined by a meal bay with a four person table which looks onto the large back garden and back verandah.
The kitchen has beautiful black granite bench top and is fully equipped with a Bosch dishwasher, microwave open, four burner gas cook top, fridge and oven. Fully equipped kitchen with kettle, toaster, pots, pans, cutlery, and tableware for eight.
The separate laundry is adjacent to the kitchen and is equipped with a sink a dryer and washing machine. There are also clothes horses for you to hang out smaller items.
The first bedroom is currently the bedroom of a child which has a king single bed. There will be a small amount of hanging space available in the wardrobe. The bedroom looks out onto the back garden and has a reverse cycle air conditioner and heater with remote control.
The second bedroom is also that of a child and has a futon queen size bed.

The upstairs bathroom has a wash basin, toilet and shower and there is a wall unit for you to house your personal toiletries.
All bedrooms are carpeted and the rest of the house has polished wooden floorboards. The bathrooms have tiles on the floor.
All towels and linen provided. You will need to wash your towels and linen as required during your stay.
There is a back garden with a veranda. This is a lovely space to sit and escape the city and read and enjoy a book or sunbathe on the lush lawn. We do have pet chickens which are separated from you by a fence.
The back garden also has a range of play equipment such as cricket equipment, balls, bats, swing, climbing rope and a cubby house for older children to play or engage in supervised play. The back yard is ideal for kicking the football or playing backyard cricket.
There is a compact Weber BBQ available for use during your stay if you wish to have a BBQ
The lush front garden which is west facing is able to be enjoyed as you sit on the front veranda and enjoy a cup of tea or read a good book or newspaper.
The house is a cleaned weekly and the day can be negotiated with you prior to your arrival. If you do not wish for this to occur please advise us.
You are able to walk (~30 mins) or catch the tram (~10 mins) up to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), AAMI Park, Melbourne Park (National Tennis Centre) to watch your team play; or wander over to the many pubs and bars for drinks before heading to Bridge Rd for some brunch followed by outlet shopping.
Richmond train station is a major transport making it as easy as all get out to, well, get out, and trams at the end the street.
- Please leave our home as you found it.
-We ask that you do not wear shoes upstairs (and preferably not on carpeted areas).
-Please do not use towels to wipe away makeup, we have provided spare cotton wool balls for this purpose if you need them.

- Pets are not allowed.
- We do ask to copy your ID on arrival
- No parties or events- having a party will forfeit your entire bond.
- Not suitable for very young children (under the age of 5 years).
- When checking out, please leave the house in a clean and tidy manner.
You don’t need to mop and vacuum (but available in laundry if required) but please remember this is our home and to put things back where you found them.
If you break any items please let us know as soon as possible so that we can replace them, if found after you leave we will require payment from the bond.
- If there is a medical emergency, fire or matters requiring police assistance, please contact 000. For other matters, phone us.
- It is your responsibility to lock the house when you are not inside and to turn off the fans, lights, heaters and TV. Lets all try and do our bit to help save our planet.
- We do not accept responsibility for loss of property. If you realise you have left something in the house after check-out please phone us and we can arrange to have it returned to you.
The entire house is available for your use except for the attic, the walk in robe and chests of drawers in each of the bedrooms.
The downstairs bathroom has an attic space which is accessible through an attic ladder but this space is not available for guest use as it house our personal items.

Yes we will be in Melbourne throughout your stay in the event you need to contact us however we may be staying about an hour away should we need to come back to the house. Emergency contact numbers for service related issues will be provided.
We are happy to help you plan your stay prior to your arrival as we want to make it as enjoyable as possible for you.
You are welcome to collect and eat the free range eggs she provides during your stay. Our pet chicken(s) do require fresh food daily and we would be able to arrange for someone to do this daily (requires access only to back garden not main house) or we can have another arrangement as negotiated with you. Also if it is very hot weather we would be grateful if we could access the garden to check on the chickens (requires access only to back garden not main house) . We also have a pet goldfish that requires feeding every second day. Unfortunately we are not able to accept other pets into the home. Feeding of pets by guest(s) can be negotiated for a discount on the booking (please discuss with host when booking house).
If you wish to cook during your stay there is a Coles and IGA supermarket within walking distance and on Saturday mornings there is a local market which sells fresh fruit and vegetables and fish/meat.
Bridge road and Swan street have boundless restaurants and cafes should you wish not to cook.
Richmond has its own private hospital (The Epworth) and also a shopping Centre (Victoria Gardens) which are both a 20 minute walk away.
The house is not set up to deal with very young children (babies and toddlers) - there are no stair gates, cupboard locks, etc.
