This small hay farm is nestled near the base of the Siskiyou Mountains in a beautiful country setting yet close in. Two large ponds surrounded by old weeping willows and other mature shade trees provide a tranquil setting for strolling or relaxing in Adirondack chairs with a good (URL HIDDEN) farm is walking distance to the quaint village of Talent and easy access from Interstate 5. It's just minutes to downtown Ashland, Medford and Jacksonville.
The fully licensed bed and breakfast suite is in the main house yet is very private with an adjacent living area and opens onto a private deck where breakfast is served during the warmer months. We use organic produce from the farm when in season. We cater to vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free diets. We also offer two vacation rentals with kitchens in separate structures (see our Shady Grove Farm - Studio and Garden Cottage listings).
Although growing hay is our business, the animals are our love. Shady Grove is a sanctuary for rescued animals that have been abused or neglected.
While Talent has several good restaurants and coffee shops, a Friday evening outdoor market, a winery, plus its own Camelot Theater hosting top notch plays, the surrounding area offers many adventures including the Shakespeare Festival, the Britt Music Festival, hiking, wine tasting, rafting, skiing, fishing, and easy day trips to several national parks including Crater Lake, the Redwoods and Oregon Caves.
The bed and breakfast area is separate from the host's living area which adds a great deal of privacy, especially since there is only one room in the main house. Guests have access to a living area with fireplace, the dining room, and a private deck off the suite. The hot tub is available to guests except during the hot summer months, and guests can lounge around the swimming pool during the warmer months. Unfortunately, swimming is not allowed as the pool doesn't meet all state requirements.

We are very respectful of our guests privacy but also enjoy conversation when initiated.
The vast majority of the time it is super quiet here at Shady Grove Farm, but because it's an agricultural area, you may occasionally hear the sounds of tractors cutting hay, a rooster crowing off in the distance, or other sounds associated with agriculture.
The property is non-smoking. The kitchen is not available to guests, as per our license, but the living area of course is. We request that quests remove shoes upon entering. Please inquire about our vacation rental if you want to bring pets. We request that you let us know first if you'd like to visit and/or feed any of the animals. We can provide you with their customary food. Finally, we ask that you relax and make yourself at home!

Husband and wife - Lynn and Lin - are a mix of native Oregonian and not-so-recent transplants. Their philosophy revolves around respect for the land and all its inhabitants. The gardens are organically grown and everything is done with sustainability in mind. Enthusiastic about sharing this serene slice of heaven with others, their goal is to make you feel welcome, comfortable and at home on the farm.
