This vintage Air Stream Trailer has been lovingly restored and is the perfect get away for a peaceful respite.
Glamping at its Best!
Situated in my private backyard off a country road, "Ms Amelia" is a 1975 Airstream Trailer. She is a graceful dame who has been thoroughly updated and refurbished. At 30 feet long, there is ample space. She has a private bedroom with a queen size bed on a raised platform. The bathroom has a toilet, basin, a travertine floor, and a cozy aromatic cedar-paneled shower. There is a large (well, large for a trailer!) closet to store your suitcase and clothes. In the living area, there is a marbled-topped kitchen counter, sink, small refrigerator, microwave, air conditioner, a cute electric "fireplace" heater. I provide dishes, glasses and a french press coffee maker. There is a small couch, coffee table, and a chair. This trailer is probably best for people 6 feet or under - though I was told that those over 6 feet will usually know how to duck around the lights!
Please note that Ms Amelia has a camping aspect to her. She is not a hotel room but is a charming trailer with all that that would imply, and is certainly gloried camping! She is 40 years old, which in trailer years is equivalent to 90+ years old. Please respect her and understand that, as with older individuals, she takes some care and kindness!
The outside patio has a table and chairs, a propane grill. There is the backyard and garden area for relaxing as well as a gazebo with a farmhouse table and benches for dining al fresco. Park in my driveway. There is also an outdoor shower with hot and cold water in my very private backyard. Wifi is available for your laptop or notebook.
"Ms Amelia" is on a private country road, quiet and secluded, and my yard is a certified Wildlife Habitat. I feed the birds and have a lovely garden. At night, you may hear the owls hooting or the buoys sounding on the water. Keep a lookout for the hummingbirds that feed outside the door!
Pets, smoking, drugs are not allowed. Polite, reasonable behavior is expected. Quiet time is from 11 pm to 7 am. There is a 2 night minimum in the summer months with a three day minimum over holidays. Off season there is a two night minimum during the weekends, one night during the week (Sunday through Thursday). Ms Amelia is not available to rent in the colder months - Dec. 1 through March 31.
In the morning, I will provide a complimentary "petite dejuener" of muffins, scones, or breakfast bread, and fresh fruit. Coffee, tea, water, and juice are stocked in the trailer. Should you wish, I may be able to provide a delicious dinner (vegetarian or fish) with wine for an additional $20 per person.
The Borough of Stonington, chartered in 1651, is a beautiful and historic seaside village that is a couple of miles away. It has great restaurants, bars, shops and art galleries. Mystic is about 5 miles down the road, with shopping, coffee shops, bookstore, restaurants, Amtrak station, and bars. Mystic Seaport and Aquarium are about 5 miles away. There are opportunities for hiking, kayaking, biking, boating and exploring the shoreline. Watch Hill and the beautiful Rhode Island beaches are 20 minutes away. A wonderful vineyard with wine tasting is just down the road.
Before booking, I would appreciate you setting up an AirBnB profile. Or send a message - I would like to get to know you a bit and be sure that this is a good fit.
I look forward to hosting you!
You are welcome to use our backyard. We have a lovely gazebo to dine in, or you can play one of the many lawn games (Corn hole, Petanque, Croquet).

I am orginally from California, but moved to Connecticut 20 years ago. I love to travel. I love to stay home and meet new and interesting people. I have two businesses, one helping (mostly seniors) with organization, downsizing and computers. The other business entails making products from recycled and repurposed materials which I sell at craft shows. I also sell vintage items and linens (many from my travels around France). I am married to Ian, a wonderful man originally from Scotland, who is lovely, affable and kind. I love to read, garden, cook, laugh, travel to France. My motto is "Live Creatively."
