Fortunately, some of these "old" farm houses still exist! While our homes are 120 years old, they have all been renovated but left to their original floor plans, and some surfaces intentionally left but perhaps painted (Website hidden by Airbnb) maintain their original and unique finish. Back in the day...all these roads were gravel, with no cars, cattle being run down them, then little traffic. Unfortunately we can't control progress. The farm is a 220 acre working farm. You can't please everyone. If you were in the thick of the animals, I'm sure there would be complaints! The way the homes are situated, original to the farm, allow for you to experience the farm life but not be woken by early feeding and smells in certain times of the year! The 20 acres that is included in the 220 acres of our working farm is directly behind the vacation homes. We purposely do not put gates for easy access, so as guests do not open the gates and leave them open, allowing for our calves on the 20 acres behind the homes to get out. As well, we prefer to give a guided farm tour, so we can ensure the safety of our guests and the animal gates etc...a 1 min. walk to see the other animals is pretty sweet in our opinion, without being intrusive to your stay. It's a farm, with a beautiful view, a mix of the best of both worlds, old and new!
