The home is in the 4th Ward - a quickly growing area but certain streets can give a false impressions (don't judge a book by its cover) - and offers great views, close access to restaurants and dining, museums, active nightlife scenes, and quaint coffee-shops . You’ll love my place because of the easy access to many central features of Houston via walking, public transportation, etc. My home is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, big groups, and furry friends (pets).
Some areas of the neighborhood are not as developed as others, but it is safe and developing quickly. It offers a true urban experience - without the risk and frantic activity of many large cities - from an established home in the neighborhood. The yard and external character are simple and will be changing most likely in the spring offer the same warmth and comfort of the inside. :)
You will have access to private parking if requested, but parking will not be a problem during your stay. The living room area, kitchen, TV (Basic w/ HBO), and washer and dryer are available for all guests, but bedroom and bathroom privacy (outside the shared bathroom upstairs) are essential.

Either myself or Matt will be happy to assist you or be a resource for you during your stay. James lives in the home and has different interactions with different guests, depending on many different variables, but the general style is to give guests space.
PLEASE USE THE DIRECTIONS WE PROVIDE FOR YOUR CHECK-IN, as some people have been initially "shocked" driving into the neighborhood, but no one has expressed feeling unsafe, had a bad experience, or left prematurely from our home. Rooms do not have private locks, but this is a home with people we have checked out - best we can - and if you do not trust yourself without a lock on your room, we can not trust you either. Theft has not been a concern and we prefer a context of trust than assumed distrust. Thanks!

Someone devoted to ideals of compassion, community, complexity/diversity, honesty and productivity. I was a clinical psychologist for 25 years in Boston, building an incredible practice of working with youth and young adults. I am now transitioning into ADR while helping a friend manage his affairs in Houston. I had a 15 year old pug who held my affections and traveled with me almost everywhere, but her recent death contributes to me being a little less "visible" in the house sometimes, but don't hesitate to ask any questions or express any need. I am an easy person to get along with, most respectful, clean, responsible and direct - and very much enjoy learning from people and experiences. I look forward to meeting. Thanks!
