The Basement Hideaway is located on an urban residential street right between NW Alphabet District and the Pearl District. The Hideaway is spacious, yet cozy, with a comfortable separate bedroom and a large luxurious bathroom complete with a clawfoot bathtub and separate walk-in shower. I grew up in Oregon, but spent 20 years living in London before relocating back to my favorite Portland neighborhood. My love of Victorian houses was ignited in the UK, and in 2014, my husband and I bought and renovated our historic home in Portland. We are using Airbnb to rent the lower ground floor (The Basement Hideaway) as a supplement to my nurse's income. I am a former UK midwife and now work as an RN case manager. I love hiking, biking, reading, writing, reflexology, travel, global news, wine, sushi-- and watching my two boys quickly grow up. I truly enjoy providing a calm, relaxing, private urban oasis to travelers who wish to explore the beautiful city of Portland. I look forward to sharing my home with you, and I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do!
