This ski camp is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts looking to enjoy peak foliage or the powdery slopes of Sugarloaf just minutes away. Come year-round to relax in this family-friendly retreat with full access to Narrow Gauge Pathway, breathtaking views of the Carrabassett River and Bigelow Mountain. Enjoy groomed x-country ski trails, snowshoeing, snowmobile trails, and scenic river walks right outside your door, then end your day in front of a warm fire.
Our A-frame style home features 4 beds/1 bath, a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and cozy living space with gas fire stove. The two-story layout allows for plenty of space to sleep upstairs comfortably or hang out with friends and family downstairs. The kitchen has all you need to prepare and cook your own meals. Sit at the breakfast counter to sip coffee and enjoy the view or around our dining room table for a more formal dinner with the family. Continue to the living room with views of the river, ample seating to cozy up in front of the fire, play a game, or watch a movie. Books, board games, and DVDs are available for your use as well.
The upstairs has a private bedroom with a comfortable bed while the second room has a bunk bed as well as another full bed nestled in the alcove. Leave the windows open to fall asleep to the fresh air and sounds of the peaceful river. The bathroom is downstairs with a stand up shower, sink and toilet. Linens, pillows, and towels will also be provided for your convenience. Soap, lotion, and a hair dryer are for your use as well. Some basics such as spices and cooking oils, paper towels, toilet paper, and cleaning supplies will be provided, but you will need to bring your own food and coffee, etc. Ayotte’s, the neighborhood store and gas station, is convenient and a quick drive on route 27, while a fully stocked grocery store is 10 minutes in the other direction in the neighboring town of Kingfield. Both have wine, beer, and liquor! Feel free to relax on the front porch or hang out in the front yard to watch the stars.
Once you leave the home, there are miles of trails at your doorstep for hiking, jogging, biking, x-country skiing, snowshoeing, and even snowmobiling depending on the season. The area’s best skiing is a short drive away and there is plenty to do at Sugarloaf Mountain during the Fall and Winter months. Plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants, and even a gym with hot tub, and a spa is available at the mountain. We recommend jumping on the ski lift in Autumn for an unrivaled view of New England foliage at its finest. In addition to all of the restaurant and bar options on the mountain (definitely try the “Bag Burger!), Tufulios is our favorite spot since you can walk there and it has a casual vibe and delicious food. Hugs restaurant is just down the road if you’re in the mood for fine dining in a cozy atmosphere.
You'll have the entire house to yourselves, so enjoy!
