The original listing (no longer available) was misleading because it led me to believe that the accommodations were larger than they actually are. The photo of the courtyard with table are actually from the restaurant next door. Besides that, the major issues were the odors (cat …
I changed the listing and left only the parts of the Riad where the guests have access to. The courtyard with tables is the riad restaurant where my guests have dinner, lunch and breakfast in groups that restaurant is mine too. I don't have cat urine smell in my propery, you must have smelled bleach which sometimes the maid use to clean the floor. I am expected to receive guests around the world who comment on my property, so I can't leave urine odor in the rooms !!The rooms were cleaned and closed before your arrival and you were the only ones who entered them that day. Should there be cats in the house how can a mouse and cockroach pass by??!! The bathroom pictures on my listing show exactly what to expect, so that is what I have here. Thank you very much for your feedback and happy new year 2017.
Majda was great with our arrival and even offered to go pick up pizzas for us, which was amazing! The downside of the stay was that the listing says 5 beds/5 bath and we were only given 4/4. The 5th room was occupied by an older woman without explanation. The host also allowe…
Thank you Jamie for your feedback. It means a lot for us. Still, it sounds that there was a huge miscommunication and misunderstanding of our listing and rules. However, let me clarify certain things to you. The riad listed 5 rooms ( 10 beds) and 5 private bathrooms. Our capacity description includes 3 double rooms, 1 quadruple and 1 triple room. Since you were a group of 10 people, you occupied 1 quadruple, 1 triple and 2 double rooms, which is very practical and no guest is left in the street without a bed!!! The woman in the 5th room was the owner of the riad checking that every thing is alright and that all the guests are well taken care of! You did not mentioned that you wanted to book all the riad for you, but you only mentioned that you were 10 people and would like to stay in our place! The guests you were suspicious of were in the riad before you came and stayed in one room for 4 nights but moved out to let enough rooms for you! They used the Wi-Fi in the terrace and left as soon as we informed them to do so! If you were really concerned with your stuff before going out, you should have put them inside the rooms and locked them up, that's the reason why we gave you the key of the rooms and of the riad door, instead of leaving them scattered all around the house! An other problem that you caused and we did not take it against you but I believe that we are all human and we make mistakes, was that you asked the three guys to put on the AC for you without getting in touch with us to give you the romote control, as a result they opened its cover manually and that could have caught fire in the room while you were sleeping. This way your lack of communication would have caused your host more damage and jeoporidized your safety. I came around to you several times asking if you need anything, but said nothing and the owner reached up to you as soon as she got notified of your message. Overall, it was nice having you all around here, but to avoid being chaotic and careless to other host properties, try to abide by the house rules and be as much communicative as you can with your host. All the best, Majda.
Overall Majda was sweet and very accommodating to our needs. She went out of her way to give us a good deal that was within our budget and we couldn't be more thankful for that. She checked on us every day to make sure we were fine and even offered to set us up with excursions an…
Tim, we really appreciate your feedback about your stay in our riad. Thank you for sharing your experience here. First of all, I am sorry that you felt offended by my honest communication to you that was a way of relating to our guest on the spot and never to vexe them or shame them at all! That is not the point here. Remember the first expression when you arrived and over a welcoming cup of tea I told you that: Out of the deal we made to you, we are not after your money, but interested in your everlasting friendship! We worked on that basis regardless of all the pitfalls happening in the stay! But, now going over your discomfort ,it sounded that the deal was not worth it! Instead of charging you 112 Euros because you were on a little budget as you said, you only paid 38 Euros for 4 nights which is nothing regarding to all the facilities we offered. Inspite of that fact, we were happy to serve you the best way it could be. Tim, it is not a matter of money, it is about compromising and building a trust to make a stay ( a life journey at different part of the world) impressive and smooth... Even if you paid 2 Euros you should be responsible, respectful and alert to other duties and settings around you! You used the word: " Confront" several times in your feedback! Using the American register it sounds very inappropriate in my community, this connotes shouting, arguing or even fighting! !We are not in a war here, it is all about communicating our thoughts to guests with no meaningness or malice! As a traveller, you should put your feelings aside and try to observe and judge things in a positive way because the world is different and not everyone shares your views! So, instead of looking at the cup half- empty, try to look at it half-full. Now, coming back to your remarks: - Concerning helping the guys to turn on the AC: You are not allowed to open its cover manually for the simple reason that it could have caught fire while the guests are sleeping, so what you could have done is to ask me to give them the remote control as they are used for this purpose. I informed you that it could have been proper to get in touch with me to give them the remote control as they left all the ACs on over night to prevent that from happening to other hosts, when you apologized I reconized it as a kind gesture as we all make mistakes... - When you changed the room, we took your towels to be washed as there were black stains on some of them as we found them thrown on the bathroom floor, you must have stompped your feet on them, we wanted to give you clean ones for the rest of your stay. As a result, we gave one to your friend Jamal on the spot, and when we came back for the two others, You were out and your room was already locked so we gave them to you when you came back at the evening. -The hot water was also fixed on the spot when we came downstairs and the proof was when I was storing your luggage in the office after you checked out, I asked for Jamal's luggage you told me, he was still having a shower in the bathroom and he would bring them when had finished, so obviously the hot water was already fixed in the bathroom! - I know that the other place you moved in has Wi-fi but that day, it was not working properly and that's why I asked you to go upstairs and use it in the terrace. - Paying money for a stay in a host's place does not give you the right to leave the lights and ACs open and running, out of your safety and being Eco-friendly to the environment and setting you are allowed to use, you have to leave them in good condition for other guests to use. -By the end of your staying, your friend Jamal bought the riad a gift that might have costed him the price of all the staying and left a thank you postcard note to show his gratitude, his kindness of heart, his trust and respect because he was touched by the quality of our service! We thought that the three of you share the same attitude, but unfortunately, we know now that it was not the case! Overall, please allow me to give you an advice: The world is created differently and when people from a low culture (introvert) visit a high culture one( extrovert), they can easily feel vexed or offended unless they open up a genuine communication and dialogue. It is not about writing negative or positive comments and sharing them with other hosts or guests here, it is about spreading goodness, discovering the human spirit and living many lives in one if you really understand what I mean! In my profile, I have stated that I am here for sharing my culture with the rest of the world and making people feel the warmth of Morocco as an initiative to make the world a better place to live in and never looked at it from a mean way to shame guests and that's why I accepted your deal. Anyway, it was great having you around, we did not mean to be bad or offend anyone of you. In order to make life easier for other hosts, try to be objective and not subjective, try to communicate your thoughts and stands to them on the spot instead of taking things into your heart and waiting for them to read your mind. Work on the way you relate to other people and seek advice or help if need be and again: You, your wife and your friend Jamal are always welcome to our place. With all our best wishes. Majda.
I am very sociable, open minded and cheerful; I like to host guests in my property to share my culture with others and make them feel the warmth of Morocco.
