Chloride is within a 90 minute drive of Las Vegas Nevada. The Grand Canyon west rim is just 45 minutes away. Our Inn is situated at the foot of the Cerbat mountains with hiking trails & Roy Purcell's famous murals. You’ll love our Inn because of the coziness, the views, the people, and the location. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups. We are a great place to unplug and relax.
This historic adobe inn is constructed with sand and mud from the local dry stream beds and the walls are 12 inch solid block. In the late 1800's this inn was initially built for the passengers on the Butterfield Stage Line to rest their weary bodies after the grueling journey through the desert.
As the stage coaches gave way to the railroad, the rooms were
converted to lodging for the miners and their families.
When horseless carriages overtook the railroads for travel, the adobe building was extended to become an early motor court on the main highway through Chloride, which today is 2nd street.
Over the following decades, the Miners Inn underwent many changes, and uses. In 2002, it was taken back to the original use, a modern day motel. We kept the feel of it's original rustic simple decor, and each room is different. The rooms are comfortable, they have private baths, plenty of fresh air and the rates are quite affordable. However, there is no air conditioning in the individual rooms. We accept overnight guests and are happy to provide longer term stays.
Chloride is a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of any large city. If getting off the "grid" is what you are looking for, we have it. There are no telephones or tv's in the rooms. We offer wifi, but because we are so far out from the closest large town, it is sometimes a bit weak.
An important thing to remember if you are a cell phone user. ONLY VERIZON provides good reception and MOST OTHER CELL SERVICES WILL NOT WORK in Chloride. Sometimes, you may be able to send and receive texts. There are land lines available in town for your use if necessary.
Rates start at $50 per night, with discounts for groups. Please call (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) for reservations. If you don't get someone on that line, call (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) or (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN).
"The Prospector" cafe and bar is just one block away for your dining needs. If you are arriving after 6pm you will not find any fast food or markets open. If you are coming south from Las Vegas, the last stop for food on Hwy. 93 is Rosies Den Cafe (about 25 miles north of Chloride). Coming north from Kingman the last stop is Castle Rock Bar and Grill (about 15 miles south of Chloride). Chloride is a friendly town with artists, antique shops, quirky yard art and is full of charm.
Music videos and many movies have been filmed in our "ghost
town". Writers and authors enjoy the peace and solitude afforded them by this little village.
