Our place is in a quiet, rural neighbourhood, walkable to Lunenburg. Lunenburg has many restaurants, small, local business shopping, and family-friendly activities. The district has several beaches and other beautiful country drives. We are very near cycling/walking trails and a kayak launch.
We have a friendly indoor-outdoor cat named Stanley.
We could make a cot or couch available for children.
We offer a continental self-serve breakfast and always have the coffee pot on in the morning!
The guest space is in the finished basement of our house. There are three rooms: a sitting room with a couch, coffee table and kitchenette; a bedroom with a double bed, desk and chair, and rocking chair; and a bathroom with a sink, toilet, deep soaker tub, and a stand up shower. We provide bedding, towels, and extra blankets. The kitchenette includes a sink, microwave, toaster, kettle, and mini fridge. The kitchenette may be useful in the evenings but breakfast is provided in the main part of the house. We generally set out the breakfast food but it is self serve. The breakfast food may include: coffee and/or tea, juice, cereal, milk, instant oatmeal, toast, peanut butter, jam, butter, and/or fruit.
You'll enter the house through the back door and into the kitchen. The dining room is available to you for breakfast. If you would like to use the kitchen to cook supper, please ask ahead of time. Once downstairs the space is all yours. The doorway that leads to the unfinished part of the basement is private.

We are generally around when we have guests. If we are home during the evening we enjoy chatting and sharing stories with our guests. That being said, the guest's own space is very private from the rest of the house. We are also always available to provide local information. We keep a collection of local tourism brochures and maps in the room.
Our cat is indoor/outdoor but generally doesn't go in the guest space.
- Barbecue available on back deck
- Kitchen use may be possible by discussion
I live in Lunenburg on the beautiful South Shore of Nova Scotia. I enjoy music and volunteer for the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Society to put on our annual folk festival every August.
I work in a small retail knitting shop in Mahone Bay, NS called Have a Yarn and am rarely with out my knitting needles.
