One of the most rare and distinguished 18th Century Mansions of Lesvos, this year opens its doors to welcome you to experience a unique and unforgettable stay where the grandeur of a past era meets the warmth of genuine hospitality.
“StiLiana” was built in 1896 by the grain merchant, Mr. Panagiotis Vamvouris with the vision of a lasting family legacy to remain in his family for generations to come. Today the ownership of the Mansion belongs to Mr. Christos Tsakiris - the great-great-grandson of its original founder - who along with his parents lovingly preserve this architectural and cultural treasure he inherited and wishes to now make available to share with others for the first time.
As you enter the grounds and wander through the beautiful front garden you are lead to the majestic marble staircase to ascend to the front terrace, reaching the stately vestibule and imposing iron doors.
Upon stepping inside the foyer of the "StiLiana" Mansion, you are immediately transported into the timeless opulence of a bygone era. Remarkably well preserved, the home retains much of its original antique furnishings and refined decor.
Within the foyer lies the entrance to the “Grand Salon” - as its name suggests - an aristocratic setting where guests can unwind in its timeless ambiance, enjoy a leisurely breakfast, or simply sip tea while being transported back to golden age.
As you ascend the “Grand Staircase,” you will discover which of the elegant bedrooms will be yours for the duration of your stay. On the first floor, leading off the central foyer are the “StiLiana” suites - each generously sized and graced with exceptionally high ceilings that evoke a sense of space and tranquility.
Perhaps it is the cozy Attic that calls to you, another level above you will find a charming self-contained apartment. Here there are two bedrooms, one double and one single accessed off a central living room with breathtaking views of the Marina, Byzantine Castle and Mytilene town. This rustic experience will enchant you.
Throughout the property, each space features carefully curated pieces sourced from locations spanning from France and Brăila in Romania, to Constantinople, adding an air of imperial elegance and reflecting the cosmopolitan taste of its time.
Immaculate Lithographs and Engravings adorn the tall walls while Murano Chandeliers illuminate the magnificent hand painted frescos on the ceilings. These were crafted in precise detail, requiring months of dedicated work by skilled artisans who sailed over from Smyrna, adding to the homes’ timeless allure.
Within display cabinets you will have the opportunity to admire exhibited a collection of fine examples of the original sets of Limoges Crockery, Christofle Silver Service Dining Sets as well as Baccarat Crystal ware, used over the generations by the residents of the premises.
The presence of delicately hand worked as well as Leavers Lace throughout the residence interiors and soft furnishings lend an unmistakable sophisticated atmosphere.
The distinctive character is further enhanced by the exquisite wallpapers imported from Marseille circa 1900 accompanied by elegant Lambrequin and drapery specially commissioned from Paris.
Over the years, great care has been taken to preserve every element in its original form, an enduring tribute to the vision of its founder, Mr. Vamvouris.

Guests will enjoy their bedroom and private bathroom exclusively.
All guests share access to the immaculate front gardens as well as the large marble terrace on the ground floor.
The Central 1st floor foyer provides access to the majestic marble balcony where one may enjoy a peaceful moment whilst gazing over the stunning views of the town of Mytilene, the Historic Byzantine Castle, the moored yachts in the Marina across the road, as well as a panoramic view of the endless divine rich blue of the Aegean Sea.
On the ground floor, guests will enjoy the ‘Grande Salon’ adorned with period handcrafted furniture and decor as well as detailed hand painted ceilings, where one can have a leisurely breakfast or simply relax with a tea and enjoy the atmosphere.
Complimentary coffee and tea facilities are available throughout the day. A shared guest restroom is also available for our guests convenience.
