Your private bedroom, bath, and sitting room await, right off I-65 and only a 5-10 minute walk to fabulous Fountain Square, where you'll find great restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. You will find our home to be clean and comfortable, with both shared and private spaces. Your private area can be personally temperature-controlled and has easy internet access. We are 20 minutes to the airport, a fast Uber ride to downtown Indianapolis (a 20 minute walk), and 1.5 miles to Lucas Oil Stadium.
Our home was built around 1890, and you can still see the old fireplace, chimney, and German Amish decor on the front porch. We had to do a great deal of renovation when we acquired the house, so it has more of a new-build feel to it.
Upon arrival, please come to the front door unless we contact you otherwise. Then you are welcome to use either the front or back doors. Your private area is accessed by the carpeted stairs on the main floor. You'll then have the upstairs all to yourself! The climate control unit is in the hallway and can be adjusted to your liking.
Downstairs you are welcome to share our spaces and use the library, half-bath (off the library), breakfast nook, and kitchen. Cabinets and drawers with items you may need are labeled, but if there’s something else you need, just ask! Coffee will be ready and warm from 6am-10am every morning. Help yourself to coffee and any fruit you see on the island or counters. You can store items on the third shelf in the refrigerator. There are drinks on that shelf too for you! If you need to do any laundry, please ask for assistance.

We are very happy to help you with anything you need during your stay. Amy, being a teacher, is often working. Travis, who is visually impaired, stays at home and does amazing woodworking. He'll be happy to help you out or get you in touch with Amy if needed.
Because Travis is visually impaired, it is helpful if you don't sneak up on him. :) Just announce yourself with your name if you happen to end up in the same shared space with him.
We ask that you do not bring to the home any extra guests that are not on your reservation. Also, we cannot allow minors to be left home alone without their guardian (not us) in our house. Quiet time after 11pm please. Thank you!
We have lived in Indianapolis for about six years, and absolutely love our city and opening up our home to traveling artists, missionaries, business people, and friends and family. People have described our home as a "retreat in the middle of the city". We have been married for about fourteen years, have previously taught and traveled internationally, and now love living in Indy, getting to know our neighbors and experiencing the city (especially all the great restaurants!). Amy is a 5th grade teacher at a private school downtown, and Travis is an artist, musician, and woodworker, specializing in hand-made pipes and jewelry. We are excited to share our home with you!
