Spacious and bright room, with private bathroom and use of kitchen and living room available just next to Hoxton Square, on the edge of Shoreditch.
Strictly no smoking, and that includes smoking out of the window. If you want to smoke, please leave the apartment, bringing your keys with you, and shut the front door. There is a covered area where you can smoke, if it is raining. Cigarette butts should be disposed of in the communal bins across the courtyard and not brought back into the apartment.
I am a freelance English teacher living and working in London. Mostly, I work with teenagers in their homes, 1-1 on literature. I especially like working on poetry and plays with them, so if you stay with me you'll see a lot of books on the shelves. I love theatre and act in plays sometimes and visit enjoy the London theatres. The dog in the picture, by the way, doesn't live with me!
The thing I love most about Shoreditch is the buzzy atmosphere: it is full of vibrancy, colour, different people, locals, visitors, different economic and social groups. It's truly cosmopolitan. I've lived in New York and LA and I've travelled to other great cities, but I always end up thinking that East London is the best. While I love the buzz, I also like to be able to shut the door on it at the end of the day and cook or visit friends for dinner.
As an Airbnb host, my aim is to make my guests feel at home, by being on hand for friendly chat, or giving them privacy as they prefer. My own room is really big and I'm often visiting friends for dinner, so I'm happy to leave the living room with its dining table and TV to guests of an evening. As an Airbnb guest, I've enjoyed some great conversations with hosts and have also appreciated privacy and discretion and practise this policy myself as a host.
I work in West London most days and am often out with friends in the evening. At other times, I'm most likely to be found in a local cafe enjoying a black americano, jogging along the canal to London Fields or browsing the Shoreditch gift shops. Sundays, I'll be looking for a bargain at Colombia Road flower market. I appreciate good coffee and can point guests in the direction of the best coffee spots around (of which there are many).
