What a lovely, well-kept, spacious villa! Totally recommend it (watch our video walk-thru, links below). Our two families loved our time here, chilling out by the pool or on the various terraces and balconies, playing or competing at table tennis, table football, darts, in the mini-gym, swimming races, football and volleyball - wow, not one ‘I’m bored Dad’ from the teenagers!
The villa itself is beautifully designed and built to a top standard, no shortcuts here. Spotless, well maintained and very well equipped, including bikes, which were used every morning to collect fresh bread and croissants from the village bakery.
Katarina and her parents, Ivan and Glorija, were great hosts. This was their family home and they live very close by but were very discreet (even when cleaning the pool before we got up each morning). They were also very warm and generous and we thoroughly enjoyed a lovely meal with them cooked in the fabulous stone oven in the traditional Croatian way, isopod peka (under the ‘bell’).
Villa Glorija is only 20 minutes’ drive from the beautiful beaches of the Makarska Riviera (and close enough for us to go on a day trip via ferry to the island of Brac), thanks to a road tunnel under the mountains built only a few years ago.
But don’t ignore the lesser-known sights inland around the fascinating town of Imotski. In particular, you MUST head for the geological marvels that are the Red and Blue Lakes - climbing down the sides of the huge sinkhole to swim in the lake was great fun.
One of our group made some great videos of our holiday in Croatia - watch them here:

Thank you Katarina, Ivan and Glorija, we had a wonderful time. Thank you for welcoming us.
