Nestled in 1.5ha (3.7 acres) of native bush and bordering the Belmont regional park, our property is a haven for native birds, from the magnificent Koreru (Woodpigeon) to the melodious Tui, Bellbird, Grey Warbler and Morepork and playful Fantails and Waxeyes, many of which come within a few feet of our lounge.
The sunsets over the harbour are amazing and, with limited street lighting, the night sky can be stunning.
The whole environment is peaceful and relaxing.
Designed by leading NZ architect, Fritz Eisenhofer, the house is light and airy and maximises the beautiful views.
A 5 min drive takes you to Petone railway station (free parking and a 10 minute train ride to Wellington) or to Petone’s heritage-listed main street with its numerous cafes and restaurants, a boutique cinema and an interesting variety of shops.
A 20 minute walk around the block provides fantastic views over the whole of the Hutt Valley and Wellington city and harbour while a half-day walk up the historic Korokoro Stream is also within walking distance.
There is plenty of parking right up to the front door.
The guest bedrooms occupy a separate wing of the house with their own outside deck and bathroom, while guests also have the use of our formal dining area (with fridge, microwave and appliances) and lounge (with Sky TV, a DVD player and an audio system). Free Ultra-Fast Broadband with wireless internet is also available for use.

I'm a mum of five and granny of six wonderful people who all live in the Wellington region. I love to travel and meet people from other countries. I live with my husband, Murray, two cats and four chickens in a beautiful place called Korokoro. Our house has views across the Wellington harbour and borders on native bush with lots of birds.
