Live the history in comfort in Bethlehem's beautiful downtown historic district. Your mansion (and the seven-nozzle shower in the Mamie Eisenhower bathroom) await! Take your coffee (or afternoon tea) on the side porch and you'll feel like one very fortunate local.
You won't find a more welcoming or accommodating host(ess) than Patty or a more lovely and charming space than The Whitehouse in Bethlehem! This was my first Airbnb experience, and I suspect it will be the standard against which all others are judged. I stayed over a Friday and Saturday to attend 30th anniversary celebrations for friend, and wanted something besides a hotel for a single traveler. The Whitehouse turned out to be the perfect choice for me. Patty has made her dream of renovating an older home and running a B&B a reality and she has done a fine job. She is outgoing, pleasant and helpful, eager to share with those who wish to converse, but not at all pushy with those who may not. You set the tone for interactions and she will follow your lead to ensure your stay is as you wish. The room was warm and inviting, with its own private bathroom and shower and separate entrance if needed. The bed was a sofa roll-out, which honestly concerned me initially due to some back issues, but I had no problem whatsoever with it in my two-night stay there. Homemade muffins and coffee or tea were available each morning and yummy chocolate chip cookies tempted in the evening. I even had the pleasure of hearing some great jazz streaming from the sitting room upon returning from a Saturday evening event. Don't worry about being kept awake late, though...the family is very considerate. Downtown Bethlehem with its shops and restaurants is just a lovely 10 minute tree-lined walk away with many beautiful homes along the way. I only wish I had had more time to explore them all. I hope to return another year for Music Fest and do just that, along with the Martin Guitar tour. Thanks again, Patty, for a perfectly relaxing stay in Bethlehem! Jana S., St. Louis. July 2017
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at The White House! Patty and her family were so welcoming and hospitable! We loved our room and private bathroom in addition to access to the kitchen and separate room for breakfast! She provided tea/coffee in the morning and muffins from a local bakery! Patty gave us wonderful recommendations for things to do and where to eat! We are so happy we stayed here instead of a hotel! We would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Bethlehem.
Oh My! What a perfect place to stay in Bethlehem. The accommodations were so comfortable, Patricia was so thoughtful, and the neighborhood so quaint. You are walking distance to town and the setting is extremely serene. A few things to note: the pull out bed is *most comfortable* - don't let this daunt you, it was better than almost any hotel bed. The private entrance and patio let you enjoy your privacy or you can spend a bit of time with your hosts - they're so gracious and they are phenomenal history buffs. The neighborhood and home are very quiet at night; it's so easy to sleep! I can't say enough about our wonderful experience... We've stayed elsewhere in very nice public digs in Bethlehem but will not stay anywhere but The White House. We're big fans!!
