COTTAGE BUNGALOW - very close to Lake Erie's Presque Isle Peninsula beaches, picnic areas, and bay front venues . Very clean and organized. Outdoor restaurant dining/lounges and shopping boutiques in walking distance. Relatively quiet, family-oriented neighborhood with low through traffic. A nice central cove for your vacation headquarters... it is l(URL HIDDEN) tip- toeing around concerned about getting white carpets dirty or breaking fancy decorations. Come and relax, have some fun.
There is parking space enough for three cars depending on parking techniques, or two full size pick-up trucks/SUVs. One trailered bas boat and a truck with a little auto in the carport is also usually a fit. No street parking is permitted in this neighborhood.
We will have discussed everything in advance. However, as a reminder...please phone me upon your departure from your area and then again when you are about 45-minutes out. We will attempt to greet you upon your arrival, do a walk-through together, etc. If that cannot occur, we will leave the door unlocked for your self check-in and hope to catch up to you later during your stay. We will tell you where to find the key(s).

Our main mutual expectation/agreement is that you arrive into a home that is clean and organized; and that you leave the home in near as clean and good of condition as when you checked in. Amazingly, in over a hundred such bookings, we have never yet had to draw upon the damage/security deposit for excessive clean-up or missing or broken items. We would really like to keep that record intact.
The property owner/manager lives only a few miles away and is available to assist 24/7 as appropriate. We ask that you respect the neighborhood and standard suburban neighborhood type practices... and typical community ordinances do apply to (URL HIDDEN) disruptive noise levels before 7:00am and after 11:00pm is pretty much the norm. We also ask that guests do not engage in rowdy "party-atmosphere" reveling in the front yard area. This is a family oriented neighborhood. We've only once had anything even close to that kind of thing, but just want to put it out there for your full understanding. We want to respect the area and be respected in return.
Guests typically provide for there own bed linens, beach/bath towels, and toiletries. We can provide these for a service fee if you prefer. Vast majority of guests choose to bring their own. Listed price is based on that.
We do provide hand towels for the bathroom and kitchen, bedspreads/blankets, clean-up items, kitchen garbage bags, and a starter supply of:
- dishwashing soap, hand soap at kitchen and bathroom, Kleenex at BA
- paper towels, toilet paper
- ice cubes, fire pit wood
Otherwise, this home is fully furnished and outfitted with kitchen wares and house wares. There's also an ironing board and iron. There's a flat screen HD TV, TWC's second highest cable TV package and second highest/fastest WiFi internet package. There is A/C, and a ceramic flame flickering heater.
Hello and thank you for checking us out,
I would like to tell you a little about myself. I grew up in a family of nine;(5) boys, (2) girls. Born and raised in Erie, PA. Family businesses (besides vacation rentals) include: manufacturing, environmental laboratory testing, plastics, and disaster restoration services.
My adult immediate family is wife and five kids; (4) boys, (1) girl. 25+ nephews and nieces. Cousins galore. Many in-laws. Along the way, I bought the home I grew up in and live there now, only a few miles from the rental homes. We have five sons, in their 20's, who also chip in helping with the rental home properties, mostly on a project basis.
As a youth, and now as a Dad with my own family, I have done lots of family travel over the years (including much extended family and sometimes family friends in tow). We have experienced some of the most majestic resort communities and gorgeous world class venues... and also many down-to-earth cottages, cabins, and motorhomes, with wilderness or simple living pleasures. Each has their place and own kinds of family fun, togetherness, growth of relationships, and learning opportunities (not to mention cost).
And then of course there's the intermittent hassles and sometimes getting on each other's nerves that inevitably enters in somewhere along the way when traveling. Anyone who's done enough group travel, cannot really deny that aspect either. But looking back, and in planning forward, it seems the good times and the fond memories are what prevails over time. And oh man, are there ever some hilarious stories that live on in our collective memories about various vacation experiences! And even some solemn memories that have occurred out on the byways of travel.
Our rental homes are not intended to be Taj Mahl-like visual wonders...that's somewhere else. Rather, ours are intended to be solid, livable, comfortable, fully furnished and outfitted...not worrying about white carpets and expensive breakables. Our rental homes are intended to serve successfully as your clean, reliable, well-located vacation headquarters while staying in Erie...your place to get started, branch out from, regroup, and kick back and relax throughout the week of outside fun activities you likely have planned.
We thank you for inquiring about our homes, hope to hear back from you, and hope you do decide to book with us.
