I was very excited to book my first AIrbnb with Red after reading all of the great reviews, however my experience was very disappointing.
Let me start we the horrendous stench of cigarette smoke that greeted my friend and I upon entering the room. We thought we were booking an entire apartment but it was simply a room inside of the Casablanca hotel. The front desk people called it a condo, but it was just a room. The smell of cigarettes was appalling and we had to convince Red that the place smelled of smoke as she claimed she had just left a few hours ago and it was fine. We found cigarette butts in the cabinet, which was likely the source of the smell. That didn't make us feel good what so ever but we tried to stay positive; we opened the windows. Red said she would stop by the next day with air freshener, but never addressed the source of the smell.
The futon couch that was supposed to be good enough for an extra person was lopsided, and dirty with trash and old money between the crevices and no one wanted to sleep or sit there. Two of us ended up having to share one of the beds. The towels that were placed out was ok, but extra towels stored all were dirty. The closet smelled of mildew and the linen in that closet smelled the same.
The TV had no sound at all. When we informed Red she could offer no answer as to what happened and then claimed it was working beforehand. Red had stopped by early the next morning to bring spray this is when we had asked about the TV and she just shrug her shoulders to say she doesn't know what's wrong with the sound on the TV. She made no real attempt to accommodate us for the inconvenience. We literally stayed the entire trip with a soundless TV.
The bathroom was OK but I didn't like the left over soap bar in the shower, it made me feel like it belonged to the previous guest which disgusted me. I don't feel the place was thorough cleaned for new guest. We began to question everything once we discovered the dirty couch, the stove plate top was dirty, the dirty towels, etc. I attempted to use the coffee maker and that was dirty as well, I had to throw out the coffee and buy one.
Our intent was to save money by cooking and we didn't feel the place provided us the comfort to do so. We tried our best to throw out the trash but that was another issue; there we no instructions for discarding the garbage, thus we were stuck with it until we checked out. I eventually left all the trash with the hotel cleaning lady. Overall, we didn't feel like the room was set up to accommodate 3 adults guest although that is how we booked the Airbnd.
